Michigan ruins $50 raffle
I just saw the promotional material today and the next $50 raffle starts august 11th 2 prizes of $1,300,000 20 prizes of $100,000 (there used to be 25 prizes) 4000 prizes of $500 (there used to be 4500) Umpty thousand tickets will be $45 instead of $50 ( oh Woo Hoo! )

There's that store in Comstock Park, MI that has sold two million dollar raffle tickets and the last MM jackpot that was won, all in about a six month span..

What are your comemnts on the follwing idea for a raffle game? Let's call this a Grenade Raffle or Horshoe Raffle . Here, being close counts. Let's say you have a typical range of tickets/numbers, e.g., 1-500,000. Four numbers are picked for a prize of $1,000,000. e.g., : 007345 101835 218518 472111 Eight numbers will win $100,000, but these are the numbers closest to the top draws (+/- 1). That is bad but they have to do this because they haven't even sold enough tickets to cover the prizes they are offering. They need to sell 275000 tickets to cover the prize amounts. My calculations they need to sell around 81000 more ticket to cover the prize pay outs and the way the tickets are selling it should be about 2 months away for the drawing. ga raffle is on the 7th and they still havent sold out but kentucky says they will extend their drawing date until all the tickets are sold out...

Is it worth spending $20 on one of those raffle lottery games? With any game of chance the perception will change when the results are known. It's pretty obvious that somebody winning $1000 - $1Million in the last $20 raffle will say it was worth it and some of those people winning nothing will say it was not worth it.
