Virginia vs. West Virginia Scratch-Offs
After hearing the news report about the very lucky West Virginia lottery player (who won five scratch-off jackpots!) I decided to go to West Virginia Lottery's website and look at their scratch-offs. I couldn't believe my eyes! I am in shock! They offer many more top prizes than the Virginia Lottery! I knew something wasn't right about the Virginia Lottery. Virginia - $1 Ticket with 65% Payout
There's a new scratcher coming to Virginia soon by the name of Wild Cherries. It will have a 65% payout, which is more than the 61% Virginia typically pays on $1 tickets. This could be just a one time thing, or perhaps a increase in payouts across all payouts in that state. Stay tuned.

Virginia scratch off-bar code doesn't match prize $...
I purchased a Virginia Scratch off which when scratched revealed one matching number and a $20 winner. I attempted to redeem this ticket at 2 seperate lottery retailers who both advised me that the bar code scan read redeem at VA lottery office and that the prize was over $600.. Myself and both retailers scoured that ticket for a missed match of some sort with no luck. Any ideas what could be going on ?
