Arkansas Lottery finishes 2009 with $132M in sales
The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery marked the end of its first 95 days of operation at midnight December 31 with a year-end sales total of $132,097,968. The first instant ticket was sold just after midnight on September 28, followed by the introduction of Powerball on October 31 and of the first Arkansas draw game Cash 3 on December 14. A new way to play the lottery in Arkansas debuted yesterday. Lottery retailers can now sell tickets for Cash 3, a game that allows players to pick three numbers in hopes of matching them to numbers selected by a random number generator at the lottery's headquarters in Little Rock. Oklahoma Lottery sales hurt by lagging economy
Lottery ticket sales declined about $11.3 million in the past fiscal year, mainly because of a downturn in the economy, Oklahoma officials said. Lottery vending machines coming to Arkansas
When the Arkansas Lottery awarded a contract to the Greece-based Intralot in August of this year, one requirement was that the lottery services company provide 100 ticket vending machines. Arkansas woman tries to cash in fake lottery ticket, arrested
A woman is arrested inside the Arkansas Lottery Headquarters Monday afternoon, and the local media's cameras were there for the arrest. Police say Ruth Dennis, 56, tried to pass a fake winning ticket for the real thing at the claims center.
