Worker accused of stealing winning Oregon lottery ticket
An investigation by Oregon State Police Lottery Security Section detectives has led to the arrest of a Springfield man who allegedly stole a winning $50,000 scratch-it ticket from the victim at a Springfield restaurant. A Rhode Island lottery technology firm has inked a seven-year extension with the state of Oregon, which will include upgraded systems and ongoing services. A 33-year-old Beaverton, Oregon, waitress was sentenced to four years in prison today for robbing a lottery outlet and hitting the clerk over the head with a whiskey bottle. Angela Marie Kotoff pleaded guilty to second-degree robbery. One of the Portland General Electric workers whose retirement hopes were dashed by the collapse of Enron has replenished his assets by about $59 million.
