A different look at Pick 3 and pick 4

I went back to September for the NM pick 3 and took the results from the 21st and the 28th.  They were 555 and 568.  I took the ln(555+ln(568 = 6330330562.  Well, the draw on the 29th was 603.  Close.  More to test in the upcoming days.

I been doing more trial and error with math and past draws. I'm going to use 999 sum of 27 divided by the sum of each draw I backtest. Try that with each group.  For Pick 4 use 9999 sum 36 divided by the sum of the drawn pick 4 number.

Just like the pick 3 example with LN (36/LN  pick 4 sum. 

 I'm using the total sum divided by the natural log of the sum of the draw.  I used the NM ( 9/27/2011) draw 250.  I then used 999 for LN 27 : the total amount and the sum of 7 for the 250 draw.  .  Next, I took LN(27/LN 7 = 2.630107055.  BREAKING INTO GROUPS OF THREE: 

263 630 301 010 070 705 055 .  Well the 630 came up as a box (603) on the 29th of September 2 draws later and the 07 showed as a pair 2 draws after that. 

I just backtested for New Jersey pick 4 Midday Draw .  However, I used the mirror sum since I found NJ works good with mirrors.  Here is what I found : on October 7 the result was 6977.  I changed to the mirrror  1422  which has a sum of 9.  So, LN36/LN9= 2.79632393 . Breaking into groups of 4: 2796 6323 and 2393.  Holy guacamole! 

3293 hit on October 9th!!

OK, I'm not getting the numbers you get in the above post.  So I'm getting the LN of 36 as 3.58351894 and LN of 9 as 2.19722458.  So when I divided these numbers I get  1.63092975, and not 2.79632393.   What am I doing wrong?  :))

I use a basic ti-30x which comes up as ln(36/ln9 = 2.79632393.  You don't do each calcualtion individually .  You hit the equals sign after entering the ln9.  Try it. I key in ln(36/ln9 then hit enter.  My ti-30 put the left bracket in automatically , and I then type in the rest of the data.

I don't have a TI...... HP only.  Tried to put it into an Excel spreadsheet, but didn't work.

Try putting in the formula as shown with the bracket and then enter after putting in all the data.  Excel has strict  methods on using math functions from what I hear.   I use the basic TI 30x11s calculator which costs a few bucks at any store.  I get the same result when I use my casio fx115ES.  Both have an automatic left bracket after the ln function is pressed.  I then entered the ln(36/ln9= 2.79632393           Its an order of operation with this calculation.

Okay, I got my results to match Lakerban's by doing this using an online calculator

this results in 2.79632393

I got it to work in excel using

=LN(27/LN(14))

only thing is I had to format to allow enough digits but it is matching so far in what I have tested.

I formatted to 14 places after decimal so that it didnt round up on me.

Sounds good.  Remember , I used the mirror of the result for the pick 4 the sum of 9 for the calc   ln36/ln9.   But for the future you can use the sum of the last draw or whatever works best.   Good luck!
