Texas Lottery Winners Denied Prize
This is a disturbing story I read at http://www.click2houston.com/investigates/10284291/detail.html HOUSTON -- Note: The following story is a verbatim transcript of a Troubleshooters story that aired on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006, on KPRC Local 2 at 10 p.m. Local 2 investigates why hundreds of lottery winners aren't getting their money. We discovered players across the state being turned away when they try to cash their winning ticket. KPRC Local 2 Investigative reporter Robert Arnold has s

finders keeper, losers weepers, we lost a $5,000,000 instant winner
We had a winner in our hands, we thought. Wanted to take it to the store to check it. Purchased a NJL Instant $5.00 game nbr 540, Lifetime Riches $5,000 weekly for life, guaranteed $5,000,000 payout lifetime. We had never played that game before, only $3.00 Win for Life. Mostly played $2.00 games with constant small winnings. Sis is left side paralyzed and almost blind in her left eye. Four years like this after a giant aneurysm burst in her brain during a clipping. I even had a mild

Setting a trust for anonymity: how does it work?
Sorry about the delay in replying... a couple of days ago I had posted a couple of links to some news stories (about what generally happens to large jackpot lottery winners) in my message and my account was suspended on suspicion of spamming... Anyhow, thanks to Todd and his gracefulness, I'm online again... Thank you so much, joshuacloack, for taking the time to contribute here your wisdom... it is very much appreciated. The problem with setting two trusts, IMHO, with the second one being a

I won 2,000,000.00 Euros
The problem with Pac is that he wants to win the lottery so bad that he is willing to believe anything at this point. He is the perfect type of prey for these scammers, they love these types. At least he was smart enough to ask about it here, there are never any stupid questions. You don't win millions through random emails, most are also generated by bots for phishing purposes only. Then you will start receiving more junk mail at the very least. Oh yeah here is one I got today. I will b

Tracking Consecutive Pairs
In an earlier discussion I raised the question as to why we track consecutive pairs when they are no always the best pairs. The answer was there are fewer of them and they hit 50% of the time. After some investigation I'm going to add one. Any consecutive pair sets two positions in your combination. Acting like key numbers they lock two numbers to consecutive positions. If you did a consecutive pair chart for the matrix of any 5/35 (Texas, Connecticut, Massachusetts, South Dako

Disportionate Scratch-Off Winners in Southern Part of State
As a follow-up, I've started to see if there was any truth to my hunch that large winning scratch-offs were primarily in the southern part of my state (Virginia) and it's bit time-consuming as I have to go through each winner's story for each of the large scratch-off winners and make note of the city where the ticket was purchased, when, and how much was won. What I've come up is that up until October 9th (when I was collecting the information) there were a total of 80 scratch-off winners wit

II. History of Gambling in the United States Examining the history of gambling in North America suggests important conclusions that are useful today in considering policies related to gambling. The United States has had a long history of allowing some forms of legal gambling and a degree of tolerance of illegal gambling. Societal tolerance and acceptance of legal gambling can change rapidly. Scandals and political control by gaming interests have led to backlashes which result
