Going then by that, I guess that you leave it unsigned until after you form the blind trust (?).

Why you should try to remain anonymous if you ever win a jackpot!
How much do you have to pay a lawyer to set up a blind trust? Doesn't the lawyer control the trust?

Which scenario would you prefer??
rundown99, I would prefer #1 because I want to be in charge of claiming my prize -- and not have an attorney to set up a blind trust.

The Anonymous Claimant POLL
The only reason why someone should have a blind trust is if they are a politician and don't want the appearance of impropriety. Otherwise you don't need a blind trust. Personally I think if I won enough it would be in an offshore trust. Only state I play in that doesn't offer the ability to have a trust is Oregon and I'd probably sue for the right to claim the prize as I wish since it's (after I win of course) my money.

Lottery Rules in different Countries?
Here is a link that Todd pinned to the Jackpot forum https://www.lotterypost.com/thread/326232 I researched the issue of anonymity and claiming options a while back and it includes other countries as well as the US states. Glad to see it is such a hugely popular useful post! And by the way, I see the issue of blind trusts pop up on occasion in the forums. People see the word blind in blind trusts and assume it protects the identity of the claimant. It has nothing to do with anonymity. If a st

The TN Powball winner-1.6 Billion,,the lowdown.
Dont be an idiot. Lots of winners do press conferences and again their names and locale are public record. How many people create blind trusts who dont have money or who are not prosecutors? Again, records are easily accessible on the Internet and anyone can find out where you live. Setting up a blind trust after the fact is meaningless. They had to find a new house and then buy it thru a blind trust. It doesnt matter how much mail you get. You throw it all away. The best time for a lottery
