Cape Cod fisherman reels in $10M lottery prize
Hi music*, you are correct. Just these past few years we've been learning that when we see a scratch game that offers a grand prize of over $1M ... we should assume that the small print (usually on the back of the ticket) indicates that that $1M+ is merely the ANNUTIZED amount. We also have learned that very few folks accept the annuitized amount, they negotiate down by accepting the cash/lump-sum amount which is usually 35-40% less (then AFTER that, the lottery office deducts the 25% as an init

Arkansas Lottery recoups $1M in unpaid taxes, child support
, RedStang, I don't think this information should be mass publicized more than twice per year. It should be on each lottery's website FYI webpage though.
Additionally, for wins minimum $500 FIRST remove Federal, State, and County Income Taxes from the Gross. NEXT remove: (1) Our Federal, State, and County Treasurer [past due w/interest income taxes, property taxes, and water/sewer/trash bills]; (2) Each County/State alimony and child support agencies [past due w/interest judgment amounts]. Im not a big fan of that card Red. The most a $10 $5000 a week for life pays off in a deck is $20. I know we play for big money but I like the win a little something to substain me in the meantime. The plus side it is loaded heavy on the top end but you are going to dud out a ton trying to get there.
A lady hit on the $10 $5000 for life jsut this week and just one mile from lottery headquarters (go figure). She took the lump sum and after taxes see received 2.7 mil. She had the money in less

Illinois Mega Millions winner to come forward
Though the article doesn't indicate [darn!!!], it is probable that the Illinois ticket purchased jackpot winner previously took either their, original lottery ticket or validation ticket, with Claim Form to the Illinois Lottery Headquarters for the 2 weeks or so of processing and financial background checks required.
Consequently, it is probable that the winner's presence later today is simply their last 'hoops to jump through' for the Illinois Lottery Headquarters jackpot monies receival req

Powerball lottery jackpot increased to $171 million
I, too, hope I win this jackpot. I can feel the happiness when I envision of investing and spending the cash value amount!
Apparently, youngmoney2, you weren't aware that, depending on the state of the jackpot win, one MUST allow their image, etc. to be used by the lottery headquarters. One rarely is allowed secrecy, as the lottery headquarters has indicated that our country's society DEMANDS proof of a person or group that won (odd, since my thought used to be that it is possible that the w

Ottawa man claims $25M Lotto Max prize
Not sure if you care, yet the public use scanner can't print that.
Instead, for security reasons (people standing behind you) it indicates you are to see cashier. But why do it that way, because now the clerk can research who you are and tell reporters your name to run in their newspapers! Yet, another reason why it is important to check your tickets only via a pc, checking phone #, or newspaper. Then you don't go to a public store. After all, they wouldn't be able to pay you out of their ti

winners of $5,000 or less. (claiming tips).
Q. Where do I go to claim my Lottery prize?
A. Prizes of $599.99 or less may be redeemed at any Florida Lottery retailer. Prizes from $600 to $250,000, and POWERBALL prizes of up to $1 million, may be redeemed at a Lottery district office. Prizes of $250,000 or more, with the exception of POWERBALL prizes ranging up to $1 million, must be claimed at Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee. Lottery tickets may also be mailed to Lottery headquarters for redemption; however, the risk of mailing ti

Tennessee lottery
The Legislature tabled this bill, meaning it could come up again next session. The bill would apply to those winning $600 or more because they have to go to the Lottery headquarters to cash in. The bill would be similiar to the Child Support measure. If you win $600 or more and go to the Lottery headquarters to collect, but you're behind on Court ordered Child Support, the Lottery will notify the Court and pay the past due amount; if any is left over then you can collect it, but not until your d

North Carolina 4/1 - 4/30
I asked the people at the lottery headquarters here what happens if you win over $600 with pick 3 tickets as far as taxes goes and was told that each ticket is a seperate payout so if you won $1200 with several tickets you still pay no taxes as it's when you win one lump sum over $600 that you pay the 7% state tax.
So if he went to just one Food Lion store they would probably go ahead and pay him......but if I won that much I might would go to more than one store too.
I am wondering if th
