Do you think the lottery should just ignore them when people claim to be the rightful owner of a winning ticket presented by somebody else? The only real question is how much investigating they should bother with. When somebody calls up and says I think that maybe I might have bought the winning ticket, perhaps at one of the many places I bought tickets, though I don't remember which places... the investigating should be finished as fast as the phone call. An investigation by Oregon State Police Lottery Security Section detectives has led to the arrest of a Springfield man who allegedly stole a winning $50,000 scratch-it ticket from the victim at a Springfield restaurant.
