Anonymous UK winner claims £122 million EuroMillions jackpot
If the AGA you're referring to is the American Gaming Association, it doesn't represent any state lottery. And the legislation Titus and Reschenthaler are introducing applies to legal sports betting. But NCAA, NFL, NBA, MLB, and other major sports organizations are against betting on their sports. Apparently there still is confusion about the Federal Government not having a National lottery and the fact Congress passed a Bill making gambling winnings income how much winnings before a W-2G is

Picking numbers. Would you rather be Good or Lucky and why?
The gambling industry considers the only two things that can be beat consistently are poker and sports betting. In poker the players are playing against each other and in sports betting it takes a 52.6 win % to break even, because of the vig. Granted in the lottery (jackpot games) it only takes one win but there are very few people who achieve that. Any discussion of any form of gambling that doesn't include the Luck Factor is really lacking something.

Ruling by Justice Dept. opens a door on online gambling
2012 may the year of widespread Internet lottery ticket sales The Justice Department has reversed its long-held opposition to many forms of Internet gambling, removing a big legal obstacle for states that want to sanction online gambling to help fix their budget deficits. The legal opinion, issued by the department's office of legal counsel in September but made public on Friday, came in response to requests by New York and Illinois to clarify whether the Wire Act of 1961, which prohibits

I voted yes. It isn't the difference of opinion, that is the put down , it is the name calling, assumptions, and insults that aren't relevant to a subject that isn't neccesarily right or wrong from either perspective. For eg. If I think I will hit big on PowerBall, and someone tells me not in 10 million drawings, you idiot, you'll spend 20million and then you'll be geriatric and to old to spend the money......etc. Play Pick 3, you're odds are better, yes I know, but I want the jackpot, not s

NFL football
I agree with this, from the standpoint that fantasy football and baseball leagues are a huge part of gambling, not to mention any other kind of sports betting that can take place online or in a casino. (Or with your neighbor.) Since there has not been a HUGE amount of gaming topics posted, every type of non-lottery gaming goes in this forum, making it very diverse. If something like sports betting (or anything else) were to become very popular, with many daily topics from several people, th

Are Secrets Really Worth Keeping?
I was using a modified version on the Martengale system a while back when I was into sports betting, (Martengale +1) in effect adding 1 more dollar to each bet to recoup my losses and make $1 profit. Then I hit a bad streak, I chased one 7 deep, I was betting $512 to make $1 profit, and guess what? I got that one wrong too!!! even though the odds told me that it was 98.5% in my favor not to get 7 in a row wrong.....it can, (and eventually will) happen! That year I ended up with a 64% winning r

New Hampshire wins Wire Act lawsuit
Federal judge to DOJ: Wire Act only applies to sports betting New Hampshire has won its lawsuit against the US Department of Justice clarifying the scope of a 1961 federal gambling law. In a 60-page ruling issued Monday, US District Court Judge Paul Barbadoro rejected a 2018 opinion from the Office of Legal Counsel which expanded the Wire Act to broadly cover interstate online gambling. The previous interpretation from 2011 applies narrowly to sports betting. The judge handed the DOJ a

A state board that oversees lawyers in West Virginia admonished one of the governor's former cabinet secretaries for moonlighting at his old law firm while serving as the Lottery Director, defying state law. The Lawyer Disciplinary Board found no evidence that former Lottery Director Alan Larrick used state resources in his private practice or leveraged his state job to benefit his legal clients. New Mexico Lottery creating game tied to sports
The board that oversees the New Mexico Lottery voted unanimously Tuesday to move forward with creation of a game tied to the outcome of sporting events. David Barden, the lottery CEO, said he expects the game to go on sale in four to six months. Details of the game are being worked out, but it will involve a parlay-like wager. A player will pick possible outcomes of at least three sporting events and will have to choose all correctly to win. It's not your grandmother's lottery game, Ba
