$340,000,000 winner in OREGON
I agree delS...hopefully the winner can stay low and enjoy their winnings. I got so sick of tired of seeing Jack-I really think he wanted to see how long he can stay in the spotlight. When the national news heavily covered the granddaughter's death and other problems the family had (didn't he get robbed before or something?), that came to show how much they stuck around after winning Powerball. If I was right, I think the news had stories about them in my area (maybe since KY borders WV) everyda

Double cancer survivor wins $4.6 million lottery jackpot
If all the lotteries give all the winners anonymity, no state lottery would file stories. If a winner wants to contact the press with their lottery story it's their prerogative. Choice or no choice makes not difference to me either or probably any winner wanting anonymity.

4 months later, mystery and rumors surround Mega Millions $1.5 billion jackpot
There's always the chance the winner heard the stories about all the bad things that have happened to big winners and decided it isn't worth it. So he trashed the ticket. Also there's always the chance the winner could be someone who is living off the grid for whatever reason and doesn't want or need any publicity or attention. Witness protection, whistle blower, covert operations, under cover informant etc., and has reason to fear for his life.

Man arrested in lottery winner kidnapping
Which is why l say that one of the best moves a winner can pull in California is converting is Sikhism right after you know for certain you the sole winner of a massive jackpot. Every male is called Mr Singh. Once you have cleared the hurdles from all the press and folk have stopped digging to your whereabouts to find out who you are- revert back to your old name. One has ample time to pull this off since you have a full year in which to come forward and claim. Some would say it's too much of a h

Do You Believe All These "Just In Time" Lotto Ticket Saves?
When you read stories about the number of tickets that could have won a significant prize that go unclaimed every year, it's not hard to believe a few could have been found at the last minute. I've brought tickets and gotten involved with something and forgot where I placed them but because I always think I've got a winner I will eventually search for them. I know people who wouldn't search for a misplaced ticket thinking the odds of it being a winner isn't worth the effort unless they hear t

Unclaimed Iowa lottery jackpot to expire Dec. 29
Does the winner still have the choice to take a lump-sum? In some lotteries you only have a limited time to choose the lup-sum. The winner may be required to take the annuity. When I read these stories, my first thought is that the winner may have died. Anyone in the area with relatives who died during the relevant time period who were known lottery players should check carefully to see if their deceased family member had the winning ticket.

Any Pick 3/4 sucess stories out there?/Livin off winnings??
Success stories are usually interesting to read. I remember a story where someone won over $250,000 in the Florida Lottery's Play 4 game several years ago. The winner bet a lot of tickets on one number (some boxed and some straight) and that number came in. If I recall the press release from the lottery website, they had to process each winning ticket separately and the winner had to come back the following day to finish all the ticket claims.

Clerk's lottery ticket error wins woman $1 million
I too was wondering why she did not mention sharing something with the clerk. I too always keep mistakes made by the clerk as I see so many stories where the winning ticket turns out to be the rejected mistake ticket. Back in the 90's the DE lotto jackpot got up to around $2 million. There was a story in the paper about the winner. He was an EMT and was standing behind a man that wanted $15 worth of tickets. The clerk printed out 3 - $5 tickets, but this guy wanted separate $1 tickets and reject

What Would You Have Done??
There have been a couple of stories like that in the LP News that I recall. A clerk didn't cancel a mistake and found out the next morning it was a big winner and bought it and the store owner complained it belonged to him since he had alway paid for mistakes that his clerks didn't cancel, losers and winners. And then there the story of the clerk that couldn't cancel or sell an extra ticket printed by mistake so she paid for it and found out the next morning it was a big winner. https://www.l

LP Member turned Jackpot Winner
Just wondering if any member from LP has ever won a Jackpot? Meaning played the numbers and won, not just predicted. And how did they fare? I just love these kinds of stories from people you know.
