$1.25 BILLION: Mega Millions jackpot set to deliver unimaginable wealth
If you live in a small state don't spend too much money on this jackpot, the odds are worse for you than the 1 in 302 million they advertise. The odds are the same wherever you buy your ticket. It's just that bigger states have more ticket buying people and that means more chances to win. Don't give up! There's always a chance!

$1.05 BILLION: Mega Millions keeps rolling after no winner Friday
To adamc224: Your ONE (or more) ticket(s) has just as much chance of winning as any other ticket. More tickets are sold in the bigger states, but the odds of winning are the same on every ticket no matter where it's purchased. Buying more tickets only increases your chances, but the odds remain the same.

New scratch-off game from Florida Lottery offers $250,000 a year for life top prize
Oh no! I checked the Prizes/odds on the Florida website and found out that Florida did have the better tickets too. In fact they still have some listed. The old ones have better prizes and odds....sigh...does every state have to make their games Progressively worse? This is what happens without competition in being able to sell tickets via mail/phone/web across state lines!

Arithmetic Complexity in Texas All or Nothing
It's a really awful game in terms of odds vs returns The odds vs return in most pick 3 games are less than 50% and other games are even worse. The chances of a $2 All or Nothing ticket winning something is 22.22% or 1 out of 4.5 tickets. Though it could be $10, $50, $500 or quarter million, players should expect the minimum return of about $2 for every 5 tickets they purchase. Wouldn't call it an awful game but showing a profit playing the game might require winning the jackpot.

New York man claims state's biggest Mega Millions prize at $476 million
Some people buy the multiplier option and buy five identical lines on their ticket. I do that. The odds in PowerBall to win a second place prize of 2 million dollars by matching 5 numbers (if you bought the PowerPlay multiplier) are 11,688,053 to 1. But because I have 5 identical lines on my ticket I'd win 2 million per line , or a total of 10 million dollars. To win 10 million bucks with 11 million to odds would make for a very nice payday. G5

Florida Fantasy-5 Players
With the addition of the midday drawing in March of last year (and I still say that was a whopper of a mistake on the part of The Florida Lottery. They certainly did NOT do players any favors) there are now 60 to 62 drawings per month. (As opposed to 30 to 31 in the good old days.) That's why all 36 FF5 numbers are usually drawn every month. It's next to impossible for any given number in a set of 36 numbers not to be drawn in 60, 61 or 62 drawings. In the good old days it occasionally happ
