Post your scratch ticket results
Yeah, CA Scratchers is kinda lame compared to what I see you guys have on the east coast. $5 is the top scratch ticket value, and the newest ones are only 5-figure top prizes instead of the older 6 or 7 figure ones. A few months ago they came out with a $77,777 top prize game, and last month a $5 crossword with a whopping $75,000 top prize, whoopee! ... NOT!!! (plus I hate crossword games) CA lotto seems to lag behind many of the more mature lotteries in other states. We have much fewer sc

How does scratch off lottery work?
Yeah, just perusing the NY scratch games, looks like there are many games with very few or only 1 prize left unclaimed. Seems to be a different strategy by the NY lotto compared to the CA lotto. You have many more different games with fewer big top prizes each. CA has fewer games with more big top prizes each. And they show total claimed versus unclaimed so you can track progress. With NY being the biggest lotto of any state, they probably have a good idea how to run a good lottery. That m

Washington Lottery's Quinto game to end in March
A lame 5/39 game. Now we can have two games with low jackpots instead of just one. The WA state lottery just seems like a long downhill slide. Their scratch games are ok and the lucky for life scratch is popular but when it comes to online games they just keep screwing up. If they were really interested in what players want they would bring back televised ball drawings. Quinto had some good jackpots including a 4.7 million cash pot. If they brought back lotto plus it would be better but th

Harry613.....
Yesterday I had a long talk with one of my lottery agents (New Jersey!) about the bonus play. He was mentioning about how people are standing at the lottery machine for up to 45 minutes trying to get a bonus match. He mentioned the same strategy that you did Harry: playing the same numbers. In one case, a customer played 7-7-7 something like 15 times in a row, never once getting a bonus match, even for $2. So on the 16th ticket he changed numbers - and I don't even need to say what happened -

Idaho woman wins two six-figure lottery prizes within 48 hours
Orlene, congratulations on your two tidy Lottery scratch games wins! This is an encouraging way to begin a new year. Interestingly, in Illinois, scratch games that cost $20 usually yield a grand prize of minimum of annuitized $1-2 million dollars. The $30 scratches usually yield a grand prize of minimum of annuitized $1-7 million dollars.

No more scratchers for me. No more.
First of all, why does it matter if scratch tickets are determined at the time of purchase? Customers do know this. Do people believe the ticket just decides itself if it's going to be a winner or loser? Not likely. Lastly, you say that time is a factor of winning scratch offs. I won't discuss that point specifically, but do you realize that if you buy quick picks (which most people do), the random number generator most likely uses time for determining the numbers? I'm not seeing any reaso

Whats you thoughts on MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES' CLUB?
By your logic, only middle class and rich people play $5 scratch games. We all know that's not true.

Wisconsin Lottery kicks off new '5 Card Cash'
It's not bad for a draw game, but scratch games still got it beat.(mostly) This poker game has total payout of 60% where $2 scratch games can be 65% or more. We have a $2 scratch game with a large $750,000 top prize ($1.3M annuity) and still around 63% total payout. Typical average return is higher too around 55%, where this poker game would be less than 50%, although overall odds 1 in 2.9 are better than the 1 in 4.5 for the scratcher.
