UK's £101m Lottery Winner 'Walked Out On Son When He Was 12'

Jackpot winners: Dave and Angela Dawes, from Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, hold their £101million cheque. The couple are not married but plan to tie the knot next yearsteven leeman Image 1

Angela Dawes and her fiancé Dave yesterday celebrated winning Britain’s third biggest lottery jackpot, pledging to make millionaires out of 20 close friends and family.

But amid the popping of champagne corks, Steven Leeman, now 17, said he was not expecting charity from the 43-year-old, claiming she abandoned him as a young boy after beginning an affair with Mr Dawes.

He told The Sun: “As far as I’m concerned, I don’t have a mum.”

The boy’s father, John Leeman, said he and his son were left with £20,000 of debts after she ejected them from the family’s flat in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire.

He told the Daily Mail: “She’s talking about making 20 of her friends millionaires, but what about her son?”

Mr Leeman, a lorry driver from Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, added that they split after he came home one night to find his clothes thrown outside their flat in bags.

Steven does not expect to get a penny of his mum's EuroMillions jackpot, despite her pledge to make up to 20 of her friends and family millionaires.

The trainee joiner said: "I haven't spent time with my mum since 2006 and I don't even know where she lives.

"I came back from a school trip to France and my mum had kicked my dad out.  She packed my bags and told me if I didn’t like it I should go.”

"She wouldn't even give me my CDs, DVDs and computer. Since then, my dad has worked really hard to pay for us.

"I have never received a birthday, Christmas or Easter card from her since then, so I'm hardly likely to see a penny of her winnings."

The teenager and his dad live in the same Cambridgeshire town as Angela. Steven added: "When she passes me in the street, she completely ignores me."

"If my mum wanted to see me now, I wouldn't see her. "

Steven's dad was married to Angela between 1994 and 2007.

John, 44, said: "People cannot believe that she dropped Steven like a hot potato. She ran off with this bloke while I was away working.

"I've been working 60 hour weeks to pay her bills. I've got a sofa with holes in it and she's walking around with £100million in her pocket."

"I don't care about her money. It makes my blood boil when I hear she is a really good person because she does stuff for charity."

Mrs Dawes issued a statement last night saying she was “saddened” by her ex-husband’s claims.

She said: “A lot of what has been said since my divorce has been untrue and very hurtful.

“I’ve always wanted to be in contact with my son, who I love dearly, and very much still want to rebuild our relationship.”

Arkansas Lottery Winner Sued By Store Manager Over $1 Million Scratch-Off Ticket

Beebe, Arkansas - For most people, seeing a scratch-off ticket reveal a million dollar prize would be a dream come true. But for one winner in Beebe, it's led to a legal nightmare.

On July 15, 2011, Sharon Jones scratched her way to millionaire status, but Super 1 Stop gas station manager Lisa Petriches said the loot isn't legally Jones' to claim. Now, Petriches has filed a lawsuit against Jones in White County Circuit Court.

According to Petriches, the winning slip was in a bucket of discarded, non-winning tickets that she often ran through for second chance prizes. Petriches said in court documents that a sign on the receptacle said "Do Not Take!".

In the suit, Petriches accuses Jones of taking the winning ticket, which was not fully scratched off, out of the bucket. After clearing the card, it turned out the ticket offered big bucks for the effort.

Jones claims she did purchase the ticket on July 15, but she did not realize it was a winning ticket until July 17.

Petriches declined to speak to KARK on camera, referring us to her lawyer for any comment. Her lawyer, Steven Underwood of Cabot also declined to provide a comment, according to his office secretary.

Sharon Jones declined to speak to KARK on camera. So, we visited her lawyer's office. Winston Collier was out of state, but he did provide comments over the phone.

Collier doesn't believe Petriches' case is airtight, and he isn't sure there's a legal leg to stand on when it comes to a sign barring customers from accessing waste basket.

"Even if it [a sign saying "Do Not Take"] were there I'm not sure the store manager has the authority to tell people not to take trash from my trashcan," he said. "And we have disputed from the beginning whether that sign was there on July 15th."

According to Collier, Jones had picked up discarded tickets from the trash pile before, with no objection from Petriches.

"My client had done this before, and the plaintiff was fully aware of it and had no problem with it until we get lucky and win the lottery," he said.

Collier plans to file a request for dismissal in the case at some point this week. He has already filed a petition to dissolve a court order keeping Jones and her family from spending the million dollar prize money.

NJ Modified TTT For October

Wish I had a better name for this one but it is what it is - a Tic-Tac-Toe system modified from usual 8 ways to win.  Consists of four boxes made from last two draws for September and first two draws for October.  I try to keep it simple - a hit is based on 8 TTT lines plus inside/outside corners - otherwise it generates too many possibilities.  LP member Twedk used this system for New York but it also works well in New Jersey.
