The problem with lottery predicting is most players expect predictions to reduce their odds of winning a jackpot to 1:1. The odds of winning a 6/49 lottery jackpot are 1:13,983,816 and if it has three drawings a week, that's 156 chances a year to try and win it. That's because you're using 100 as the pool instead of 10. The odds calculator will give you box odds not straight for Pick-3/4. If you do Pick-3 and put in 3 picked from a pool of 10 with 3 drawn it will give you 1 in 120 the boxed odds, no doubles no triples. So for Pick-2 put in 2 picked from a pool of 10 with 2 drawn it will give you 1 in 45 the boxed odds discarding the mirror combinations and doubles. BobP

In my opinion, scratch-offs are a bad bet. Did you ever take the time to read the odds for each game that are listed on the back of the scratch-off tickets? They're ridiculous. If you buy one scratch-off here and there, as a lark, maybe, that's just a fun way to spend a buck if you want. But most scratch-offs have worse odds than Quick Picks on the Pick 3. Where are you pulling these 1:167 odds from? The Pick-3 odds for Straight are 1:1000 and Box are 1:210 or 1:220 if you include the Triples (1-1-1, 2-2-2, etc.) There are odds for All Different and Doubles purely based on their representation in the total population.
