Nebraska Lottery to make changes to Pick 5 game
Lotteries exist to generate revenue for the states. And for the most part, they haven't had to make changes that benefit the players, because players would play whatever was available. Nebraska Lottery may be experiencing the shape of things to come, though, as Nebraska Lottery Scratch ticket sales for fiscal year 2022 decreased 5% over the previous year. In contrast Florida Lottery sales from scratchers has gone from 60% of total lottery sales in 2012, to a whopping 75% in 2022. So if Nebraska

$70 million Michigan Powerball winner says lottery winners should be able to remain anonymous
The lottery knows about scammers and the increased burden on law enforcement caused by revealing names but they don't care because someone else has to deal with that. States that let winners stay anonymous don't seem to have problems increasing sales or selling tickets. Please back your assertion with facts about how much identifying winners increases sales. Michigan went anonymous for state games in 1988/89 and they have had increasing sales almost every year after that! Identi

$1.9 BILLION POWERBALL JACKPOT SETS WORLD RECORD OF UNIMAGINABLE WEALTH
If the amount of sales I read is correct, 279,269,971 tickets were sold for 11/05 drawing and with a 95% chance, someone should have won. I believe the record ticket sales was set on Jan 13, 2016 when 635,103,137 tickets were sold and three divided the $1.58 billion advertised jackpot. Based on that statistic, it looks like sales were over twice as much six years ago with almost an equal size jackpot. Read where lots of players say they would be ecstatic winning the second $1 million prize

$825 MILLION: Powerball jackpot raised due to surging ticket sales
I recognize all the words but I'm not sure what you said. Does I don't think a billion if no one hits this draw mean you think it won't reach a billion, or you think it will go well beyond a billion and set a new record? The other day I said I figured it would probably reach a billion if it rolls from 850, but after thinking about it I'm not so sure because the next drawing is on a Monday. I didn't check every Monday drawing since they started, but I did check all of them when the jackpot wa

North Carolina Lottery approves online instant games
Funny the 'big' states still don't offer on-line sales. The consumers like this. As for me I do LESS on-line buying than I used to preferring brick and mortar sales.

$825 MILLION: Powerball jackpot raised due to surging ticket sales
As above, maybe the jackpot is high enough for Monday's sales to beat Saturday's, but I think there's a fair chance they could come up short again. If sales bring it to an even billion the chance of a rollover will be about 61%. Another rollover will mean strong sales for Wednesday, so 1.3 to 1.5 is probably very likely. That would mean sales of about 236 to 395 million tickets which corresponds to a 45 to 25% chance for another rollover. Anything can happen, but the most likely outcome is o

$1.725 BILLION: Powerball jackpot now 2nd-largest of all time
Most in the press have rounded that number off to $1.73 billion. If it was a normal number 1.725 should get rounded up to 1.73 if that 3rd digit is a problem. In this case it's an advertisement, and even using the annuity that nobody's going to take they aren't planning on giving anybody 1.73 billion. I don't know about actual advertising, but the websites of a few states are calling it 1.72 billion. New Jersey's website lists it as 1.7 billion. Whether any of those lower numbers are the re

$1.7 billion in combined jackpots, as USA multi-state lottery games peak together
If it is won tonight, it will be over $1billion once the final prize is determined. Strikes me as unlikely. The decision to post a revised cash value was made based on a 15% increase over the initial sales prediction. Reaching an even billion would have required an increase of 24% over the revision they made sometime on Friday when they had over 2 days of actual sales for predicting the final total. On the worksheet on the TX website the supported jackpot was reported as $982.35 million. MM

$1.76 billion Powerball jackpot won by one ticket sold in California
Lol that you're saying california has a higher population than China or India combined is totally nuts. If the lottery were rigged, it would be so california and Florida dont win. Sales would be better from other states if people didn't see those 2 winning all the time and the objective of the lottery is to increase sales. I don't believe the lottery is rigged so anyone in any particular place wins it, that doesn't benefit the lottery system in any way. I wouldn't be surprise

$1.725 BILLION: Powerball jackpot now 2nd-largest of all time
The one castro won last year was 1.976 with cash of 929M If it goes til Saturday it will be about 1.922 with cash of 874M. Saturdays projected sales are 323M. When castro won it the sales were 550M It would have to roll til Monday to maybe beat last years. The sales numbers aren't even close tho.
