I also get the fact that ticket sales for all lottery games is way down these days. You can see the effect of the high cost of groceries and gasoline on lottery ticket sales just by looking at the amount paid out for any FF5 jackpot. Saturday FF5 jackpots are $10 to 15 thousand dollars lower than they were last year. The reason FF5 has as many jackpot winners as it does is because the odds are low. Interesting how even with a maximum jackpot the current JPT promotion cant drive enough extra ticket sales to produce a jackpot winner. Lottery ticket sales for many games have been down lately. Must be the high cost of everything that's cutting into ticket sales. G5

There was one winner of $161,707 in last nights FF5 drawing. That means yesterday's total take was approximately $528,000. That's for 24 hours of ticket sales, but I think the vast majority of those tickets were sold after 12 noon yesterday. The Florida Lottery probably knows exactly which hours of the day have the most FF5 sales, but I doubt they'd be interested in revealing that information. It sure stinks that JPT keeps rolling down. They hit the 2 million dollar cap on the jackpot on June 3rd and nobody has won the jackpot since. Apparently 2 million dollars isn't a big enough prize to attract player interest in the game. I guarantee you that if I won the 2 million, I wouldn't call it chicken feed and I'd be darn glad to have won it. The Florida Lottery doesn't make the total take publicly available. But if players use FF5's official rules (which they make available on their website) then the total take can be calculated. Even then, when I've manually calculated the total take in the past, I didn't include the dollars that players spend on EZ Match. If I'm going to criticize the additional midday drawing, then I should offer what I think would be an improvement to the game. Before I do that, I have one more criticism that I'd like to share. Ticket sales of FF5 are not what they once were (prior to adding the midday draw) so adding the midday was The Florida Lottery's response to try to attract more player interest in the game. I agree that ticket sales are down, I can remember jackpots in 2020 and 2021 being in the $230,000 to $235,000

I wonder why the FF5 ticket sales are low on Sundays as opposed to Saturdays? Because we are still in the weekend and most people are not working on Sundays, it seems the ticket sales should be about the same in the weekend.

I've been thinking about JPT. It's probably going to take a while before somebody hits the two million dollar jackpot, and if they take the cash option (most people have done exactly that) they probably will receive a prize of less than $1,300,000 before taxes.... If you're wondering why low ticket sales translates into no jackpot winner, it's due to what the people who run lottery's call coverage . In FF5 there are 376,992 possible and different combinations of five numbers. If they sold each and every one of those possible combo's that would be 100% coverage of all of the total possible combo's. That rarely ever happens. To produce 50% coverage (hence a 50/50 chance of there being a jackpot winner) The Florida Lottery must sell 198,496 different
