calculate the odds
I have become very interested in studing the odds of winning the various lottery games. It seems that the 5 number game in most cases is the better bet to win rather than a 6 number or a powerball game.Have a question on odds calculation and hope someone here can help. The odds calculation is pretty starightforward and rather simple. (ie; 1/(5/39*4/38*3/37*2/36*1/35)=575,757 to 1 odds) for a 5/39 game. The play ticket usually explains the odds for the various prize levels but also added is what

I have a question, I know the regular odds to win the F5 but sat I can reduce the 5/36 down to 16 numbers, that I know have the best chance go come out, how do I calculate the odds of winning if its 5/16? What is the math like behind finding the odds

How much do the odds increase by buying more tickets?
Is there a way to calculate at which point it's no longer worth buying more tickets? What we do in the office is that when MA Megabucks (pick 6 of 42, jackpot odds 1 in 5,245,786) gets high, we pool our money for some tickets. So say we managed to get together $100 for a draw, and some more people want to join and we can possibly get up to $150, I never could figure out if the extra $50 would be worth putting in for that draw, or we should hold off and use the $50 for the next draw (assuming no

I'm curious to know if you're using lottery software or not to calculate the bias? Plus 18 on the Odds?? Way out of whack! Congrats on the FF5 hit. G5

I play at least one repeater on every line I play. (Some times I play two repeaters on a line) That's because repeaters have such a high frequency of happening. I think, but I'm not positive, repeaters happen 50% of the time. If not 50%, it's very close to 50%. When I look in Smartluck at graphs of how the numbers fall, in every game no matter what state, repeaters happen more than 1 skips, 2 skips 3 skips etc. So from that perspective it makes sense to play repeaters on a lot of lines. (I'm

Here's a quick and dirty way to calculate a rough estimate of how much money The Florida Lottery took in for any given draw. (The Take) To win a Free Ticket the odds are 1 in 8.39 (One out of every eight lines sold wins a Free Ticket) 1 in 8 equals one eighth of all lines sold. So because there were 78,074 Free Tickets won last night there were approximately 625,000 lines sold - which translates to a little more than $625,000 of sales or the take. G5

How to calculate The Number Of Odd/Even Combo's in a 5/36 matrix
I usually play 3 Odd, 2 Even or 2 Odd 3 even. That's a total of 249,696 combo's or 66.22 % coverage of all 376,992 possible combo's in a 5/36 matrix. In Florida Fantasy5, (a 5/36 matrix and I'm located in Florida) most drawings see 3/O - 2/E or vice versa. That said, 4/O 1/E or 4/E 1/O happen too. We dont see too many all odds or all evens, but occasionally they do happen. I was curious to know how many combo's were in each group but I had no idea how to calculate it, so thanks again. G5

5/39 Schooling...
Jarasan, >>>The argument the other night was: KENO, RACETRAX Which game has better overall odds?<<< Let's find out! If you can get the final odds for each horse in the race, for say three races, unless the game has the 12 same odds listed for every race, and they just change the number of the horse assigned to each odds since it is supposedly a fixed odds game, then of course you would just need that one set of odds. The same could be done for the 66 quinella combinat

Just an FYI... Here's breakdown of the number of Odd/Even combinations of 5 numbers. From it you can see why it's very smart to play 3 odd/2 even or 2 odd/3 even (which is what we saw last nite) 0/5 11,628 possible combinations of 5 numbers 1/4 77,520 2/3 184,110 3/2 194,940 4/1 92,055 0/5 15,505 If you add up those possible combinations of 5 numbers, you'll see they total 575,757. Which is the T5 odds of 575,757 to 1. But at least now you can see why 3/2 odd/even or 2/3
