Crooks stealing instant Scratch off tickets From Conveince Stores in NYC
In this case it's a race. The crooks stealing the tickets know that they have a VERY short window of opportunity. All they need to do is scratch the validation numbers off and have the next retailers scan them. The retailers really have to be quick to report the crime to lottery officials. Thankfully, they can report the stolen tickets quickly. However, if the crime goes unnoticed for 10 minutes or more... it's really too late. Also, I would hope cashiers would first contact the lottery (with th

Channel 9, WFTV in Orlando has an aggressive Investigative Unit. They are advertising heavy about exposing corruption, crime, etc.......probably a good channel to contact IMHO.

I don't know how many of the Monopoly tickets you guys are buying but around here in Jax I can't win on jack $% #. I buy them and the best I get is my money back and on the $20 tic I bought no lie 15 of them sense they have been out and not one winner. Maybe crazy bad luck or there just terrible I just don't know. Maybe they are just sending duds to certain areas bc it is a crime near me.

I would really appreciate if someby bought me a CT lottery scratch offs
Unfortunately it is a federal crime to send lottery ticket's in the mail. and you could be an agent trying to set up someone on this site to do just that. I would advise people not to send tickets in th mail for people you do not know. Beware of set ups.

What's to prevent Scientific Games or Lottery employees buying winners?
If it is a small prize, there really isn't any security. With a larger prize they would look for unusual patterns (such as someone buying all the tickets going to one particular store). Also, people talk, and that's what usually catches someone who commits the perfect crime .

Interesting article. I'm supposing this happens here in FL on a much smaller scale (and between friends relatives) when someone wants to avoid trying to process a claimer if they owe back taxes or child support. These guys though...geesh https://www.boston.com/news/crime/2022/12/12/watertown-father-and-son-who-cashed-over-20-million-in-winning-tickets-found-guilty-of-lottery-scam/

If that is the case then the Florida Lottery regularly engages in deceptive fraudulent practice. I have questioned them for years over this and got nothing back. They like to preach about honesty, accountability and integrity within the lottery and its games and bust retailers that try and steal from customers. I feel that when the lottery destroys thousands of tickets that have been returned from retailers and fails to update the remaining prizes on the website along with the ILR data that is a

And where the hell were they when I literally dodged a car driving south in northbound lanes, missing the other car by likely feet (it all happened too fast, I don't know how much I dodged him by or how I didn't end up in the grassy area between north/south) on 95? Sounds like the good ole boys in West FL have too much time on their hands trying to luck into the crime of the century rather than really looking for criminals.
