Do some number combinations have better odds?
Probability defines the probable, nothing more nothing less. We could calculate the probability of the number of times each MM number should be drawn over the next 700 drawings and see it's around 59 to 65 times, but when looking at the last 700 drawings we'll see only 30% of the numbers matched that probability. If players understood probability, the question of the day would not be will the $50 million PB jackpot roll? . This is an good example of when calculating the probability does

How Many Folks Gave Up On Powerball When It Went To $2?
I just got back into playing PB and here's my reason... the odds are better for matching 5 numbers than MM. Yes but did you bother to calculate the odds of winning per two dollars spent? PB MATCH ODDS PER $2 SPENT 5/5+B 1 : 190242668 5/5+0 1 : 5141694 4/5+B 1 : 704602 4/5+0 1 : 19043 3/5+B 1 : 13294 3/5+0 1 : 359 2/5+B 1 : 767 1/5+B 1 : 120 0/5+B 1 : 60 MM MATCH ODDS PER $2 SPENT 5/5+B 1 : 129445425 5/5+0 1 : 9246102 4/5+B 1 : 369844 4/5+

is anyone making an income from lottery
You're making it sound like betting $799 to win $1 is a really good bet. Will all your probabilities help you pay off a $5000 bet at 799 to 1 odds? This sentence makes it clear that you don't intend to use logic, you're just here to argue with everything I say. I obviously would never take a 5000 dollar bet. The lottery can, because there pockets are deep enough to take losses if a huge bet has to be paid off. And some lotteries still restrict sales on individual numbers to prevent the

POLL - On The Whole Do The Lotteries Provide Truly Random Numbers?
My thought on this is that for a game to be truly Random it has to be done in a vacuum where there are no man-made forces acting on it. If it is man made, it will not be truly Random. Neither on a Lotto Machine nor on a Lotto Computer. Odds on getting 5 out of 5 numbers on a 5/39 game are 1 in 575,757. View these results. Two seperate games with results with less than 2,400 drawings on ea. Remember the odds of getting all 5 numbers = 1 in 575,757. Anyone want to calculate what the odds are of th

Feedup? Contact your state lottery
As a rule I am not an activist and generally keep my opinions to myself but, according to the article I just read, it appears that the Texas Lottery is having money woes and there are still plans for privatizing it. Digging a bit deeper, this appears to be a trend in that other states have already done it and others are considering it. The reason given in each case is falling revenues from their prospective lotteries. I am in Texas and at one time ours was, not bragging, one of the rich

Question for Wheel Design Gurus
There is a chapter where he discuss the MIT guys the took advantage of the Massachusetts Cash Winfall roll down lottery. He was trying to figure out whether the MIT guys utilized some sort of algorithm. He sounds like he might be too stupid to write a book that's worth reading. There was no need for an algorithm, because a rolldown resulted in a statistical probability of a payout that was more than $1 for every $1 you bet, so all you had to do was bet enough to have results that are statis

Powerball Power Play Number Almost Always 2 ?
Since PowerPlay is only 1 digit it's pretty simple: the expected frequency is derived from the proportion of digits that are theoretically supposed to come up. For the case of x2, the odds are 1 in 2. This means the expected frequency is 50% of drawings. For x3, the expected frequency is about 30% of drawings. For x2 24 drawings = 12 expected 26 drawings = 13 expected For x3 24 drawings = 7.21 expected 26 drawings = 7.81 expected etc. Obviously, 7.21 exact appearances is

is anyone making an income from lottery
This sentence makes it clear that you don't intend to use logic, you're just here to argue with everything I say. You said you I'd give you 749 to 1 against you for any Pick 3 straight number anyday. Hell, I'd even give you 799 to 1. If you want to talk logic, what is logical about betting $799 to win $1? It is logical for a state lottery to give 500 to 1 to thousands of $1 bettors betting on 1000 different numbers. I see no logic behind putting up that much against one bettor. An Online

What is a lottery system? What distinguishes a lottery system from guesses, dreams and quick picks?
Bobby I don't know if when using gap strategy that making the game a 3-30 would help since the pick-3 is really just picking a three digit number between 000 and 999. I play the other way around by taking double digit games and turning them into digits. Many think this has no real use but for me it has proven it's self over selecting numbers in that it produces many more lower prizes when I make several correct selections. If I was going to play I would use a random gap approach.

Gambling Of Any Kind Is Not A Sin!!
Has anyone of you thought and think that what people bet on are games...Is there anything wrong with a game...Is there anything wrong with placing your money on your favorite team or horse thinking he/she is going to win... Gambling can't be a sin....I encourage for the State to select lottery games that are hard to win but that don't have a lot of odds...I encourage them to do it but at the same time i don't....For example i encourage the state to put keno more harder give it more numbers, t
