How Many Folks Gave Up On Powerball When It Went To $2?
I just got back into playing PB and here's my reason... the odds are better for matching 5 numbers than MM. Yes but did you bother to calculate the odds of winning per two dollars spent? is anyone making an income from lottery
You're making it sound like betting $799 to win $1 is a really good bet. Will all your probabilities help you pay off a $5000 bet at 799 to 1 odds? This sentence makes it clear that you don't intend to use logic, you're just here to argue with everything I say. I obviously would never take a 5000 dollar bet. The lottery can, because there pockets are deep enough to take losses if a huge bet has to be paid off. And some lotteries still restrict sales on individual numbers to prevent the

What Does It Take To Win (Mathematically Speaking?)
jimmy Black Jack vs lottery Card counters and lottery self pics. When a player starts playing BJ he first lays down his bet before the first card is drawn from the deck. He may however watch the game for a while before deciding to enter the game waiting for the most oppertune time to begin play. He may calculate the odds for the remaining cards left in the deck. The lottery player watches the game and then decides to give it a try by picking his numbers based on information go

POLL - On The Whole Do The Lotteries Provide Truly Random Numbers?
My thought on this is that for a game to be truly Random it has to be done in a vacuum where there are no man-made forces acting on it. If it is man made, it will not be truly Random. Neither on a Lotto Machine nor on a Lotto Computer. Odds on getting 5 out of 5 numbers on a 5/39 game are 1 in 575,757. View these results. Two seperate games with results with less than 2,400 drawings on ea. Remember the odds of getting all 5 numbers = 1 in 575,757. Anyone want to calculate what the odds are of th

New Hampshire crushes lottery winners with new 10% tax
Two $1M winners rush to get prizes before taxes skyrocket Will higher taxes have the wrong effect and reduce revenue to the state? The day before a massive 10 percent state tax on lottery prizes went into effect in the Granite State, two winners claimed separate $1 million jackpots something never before witnessed by a 20-year veteran of the lottery. Milford High School teacher John Kasparek, 42, of Brookline, took a lump sum cash payment of $650,000 before taxes after a NH Millionaire'

How to calculate odds
You can't, unfortunately. I live in SC and they are very open and honest about the odds for their scratch off games (though sometimes you won't believe it when you hit a losing streak! grrrrr.....). However, though they post the total tickets in the run, the total prizes with the value of those prizes, and then even post the remaining top prizes for each ticket (and the dollar value of ALL prizes left), there's still no way to adjust the return/odds because we aren't given sales figures ab

Lotto 6/49 Canada - improving odds by prediction lists
Hi everybody, With precious help from my friends I have developed a method that improves the odds of winning the Lotto 6/49 Canada by up to 20 times (for a 6-numbers set played). The idea is to choose the 6-set played from a pool that is about 20 times smaller than the total pool of ~14 million possible 6-set. So instead of playing randomly with 1 in 14 million odds you can play not-so-randomly for 1 in 700 000 from my prediction list. If you play 10 sets from our list you get 1 in 70 000

Feedup? Contact your state lottery
As a rule I am not an activist and generally keep my opinions to myself but, according to the article I just read, it appears that the Texas Lottery is having money woes and there are still plans for privatizing it. Digging a bit deeper, this appears to be a trend in that other states have already done it and others are considering it. The reason given in each case is falling revenues from their prospective lotteries. I am in Texas and at one time ours was, not bragging, one of the rich

Pick 22: Combinations and Permutations
Original Quote by JADELottery: However, when trying to do the work out for Pick 11 there was a computational problem. It had to do with taking 10 numbers 11 at a time. If you think about this, you can see this is impossible. After a few hours, a few beers, and a few nights rest, I realized the solution. The problem has to do with repetition. I also noticed this problem when I first began listing the patterns for the Pick 22. The solution I came up with was to first not allow duplicates of
