I agree... and less discretionary income due to high inflation could be a reason why ticket sales aren't what they once were. Adding to the fact that inflation is high, and that extra large jackpots probably aren't seeming all that out of the ordinary to people might be why lottery officials overestimated ticket sales for the next jackpot. Note that Texas State only profits more from 3rd party facilitators because their proceeds per ticket remain the same, and more tickets are sold due to extra ticket sales from these facilitators. Texas State is shooting themselves in their proverbial foot by coercively preventing 3rd party profits from ticket sales.

If I'm going to criticize the additional midday drawing, then I should offer what I think would be an improvement to the game. Before I do that, I have one more criticism that I'd like to share. Ticket sales of FF5 are not what they once were (prior to adding the midday draw) so adding the midday was The Florida Lottery's response to try to attract more player interest in the game. I agree that ticket sales are down, I can remember jackpots in 2020 and 2021 being in the $230,000 to $235,000

I wonder why the FF5 ticket sales are low on Sundays as opposed to Saturdays? Because we are still in the weekend and most people are not working on Sundays, it seems the ticket sales should be about the same in the weekend.
