VIDEO: Should you move to California to win the lottery?
I won't mention the name here but there is a website in Texas that has a lotto report of ticket sales by state from most of the states for both Powerball and Mega Millions draws. I have looked at sales reports, by county, in Michigan and there are plenty of anomalies here if you compare big wins/sales by county. Too bad the games are not more transparent and don't break down the ticket sales by state and too bad the states don't break them down by county and report the numbers online.

$875 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot surges on rollover
They botched that for sure......over estimated... As near as I can tell they're outright lying to us. Sales being a lot less than their forecast is one thing, but somewhere around noon on Friday (Todd posted about it at 12:39PM), after they had a day and a half of ticket sales to dial things in they claimed that the cash value had gone up by several million dollars. Not only did they do that when sales should have made it obvious that they were going to come up short, they did it while stil

$900 MILLION: Powerball jackpot rises, but sales miss in last draw makes for small increase
This makes no sense. I keep track of ticket sales. For Wednesday's July 12th drawing $107,649,307 in ticket sales - Powerball + Powerplay sales $750 million jackpot For last Saturday's July 15th drawing $167,822,992 in ticket sales - Powerball + Powerplay sales $829 million jackpot For next Monday July 17th jackpot = $900 million So from Wednesday to Saturday the jackpot rose $79 million but is only rising $71 million after ticket sales went up by 56% - that makes no sense.

Florida Lottery Fantasy Five going to twice a day--will you still play?
Players play FF5 for no other reason than to win the jackpot. The lower tier prizes are just awful. I matched three numbers last night and won back the ten bucks I spent yesterday. The second tier prize for matching four numbers was a paltry $78. The only way the second tier prize is any good is if there was a rolldown due to no jackpot winner. Say so long a nice life enhancing jackpot win. If you play after March 20th, the bigger jackpot will most likely be for the evening draw, but it

Powerball and Mega Millions sales increased $11.4 million and $13.1 million, respectively, as a result of high jackpot levels. The Mega Millions jackpot hit $1 billion and the Powerball jackpot climbed to $731 million. And Pick 3 and Pick 4 games had strong sales this year. In total, these games accounted for a $36.1 million increase in sales compared to p

Winner of $95 million Lotto Texas lottery jackpot gamed the odds to win
New Jersey based group turned the odds to win in their favor By Kate Northrop Around this time one year ago, the Texas Lottery's Lotto Texas jackpot was bursting at the seams, boasting the game's third-largest prize ever at a mouthwatering $95 million. One New Jersey-based group gamed the odds to win the jackpot. Following a seven-month period without a winner, the Lotto Texas jackpot had ballooned to $95 million for the drawing on April 22, 2023, the game's largest in over 12 years.

$1.09 BILLION: Powerball jackpot is 4th-largest in game history
Can we get 2-3 winners this tine Probability says no. It takes sales of $405 million just to have any number of winners be as likely as a rollover, and at that point the chances of a single winner are about 2.2 times as likely as multiple winners. The last time that happened was in the last two drawings for the PB record back in November 2022. It takes sales of a hair over $734 million for multiple winners to be just as likely as a single winner. That has happened twice, in the last two dra

Nebraska Lottery to make changes to Pick 5 game
Lotteries exist to generate revenue for the states. And for the most part, they haven't had to make changes that benefit the players, because players would play whatever was available. Nebraska Lottery may be experiencing the shape of things to come, though, as Nebraska Lottery Scratch ticket sales for fiscal year 2022 decreased 5% over the previous year. In contrast Florida Lottery sales from scratchers has gone from 60% of total lottery sales in 2012, to a whopping 75% in 2022. So if Nebraska

Maybe we are making a mistake in predicting random lotteries as a whole, let's divide it into 4 part
It's difficult to determine which lottery game San wants to discuss because he seldom says it upfront. It wasn't until page two when San finally mentioned the path to pick3 . I'm in totally agreement that the majority of MM and PB ticket sales are QP and when the ticket buying frenzy starts, an estimate of 90% of sales are QPs might be on the low side. Don't recall any pick 3 buying frenzies because that jackpot never changes. I won't say for a fact the majority of pick 3 sales are self pic
