Sunday Shopping

Stressful is what I think of about sunday shopping. I want to rest on sunday and not be near any crowds. I'll go to the dollar store which is great. But I don't want to go into crowded grocery stores.

I saw the parking lot full of cars and I left as soon as I could. Some workers  out there work all week and they don't want to work sunday as well. I don't blame them. Also some employers will give employees a hard time if they don't want to work by punishing them in subtle ways by not give them a day off if they need it or wanting them to work overtime. The Labour board said that some employers will punish some employees this way if they don't want to work sundays. I wouldn't want an employer like that! I'd rather work for myself, which I'm going to do sometime!

I'm Not Afraid Of Friday The 13 Th!

Big SmileI'm not supersticious about friday the 13th. Some people are . I am not afraid to walk by black cats, or walk under ladders. Or any of the other supersticions that some people have a bad habit of.

I've had good luck on these days. And it's just another day to me. I pray to God daily for guidance and protection and go about my day.

Being Married To Oneself

I was watching a television show this morning and a woman 50 years old. Quite attractive and intelligent decided to do a ceremony to marry herself. A personal, committment ceremony, I guess you could call it.  She has not met the right man. I know how she feels by the way.She likes her independance and nobody understands her more than herself.

I agree with her. I know that nobody in this world understands a person  more than themselves. And I'm my own best friend also. I have seen the relationships and marriages of today and I can understand that you are the only one who can really rely on yourself through good times and bad. I as well have realized that in my life.

Yes , it's good to have friends or roommates, or relationships . But is marriage really necessary anymore. The answer is no, not like it used to be. Independance is the greatest gift of all .

keno lottery

won $5.00 on keno. Not much, but paid for more tickets for me so I'm happy.

This woman in Ontario, 86 years old.   In the news , that won one of the last 649 jackpots, had a dream about lottery numbers for the draw ,  so she played them and bought two tickets with the same combination so she won double the jackpot. Smart, lucky woman.

I want to be fortunate like this woman.

Overpass In Laval, Quebec Collapsed

  In the news...

Several cars were travelling on top of the overpass when a pedestrian sidewalk and three eastbound lanes of boulevard de la Concorde in Laval collapsed onto Highway 19 about 12:30 p.m. ET. Six adults, four men, two women from vehicles and pedestrian traffic on top of the overpass injured.

At least four cars and one motorcycle tumbled down into the gap created when the overpass fell.  Two flattened cars were removed from under the rubble early Sunday. The overpass was built in 1970, and inspected last year. Citizens in the neighborhood did not see any inspection work done this year.

Personally I feel that a busy overpass  or bridges should be inspected every few months or so  for any damages done from the amount of traffic travelling daily.

Rainy day

It poured out earlier, and it's cold out. People are anxious to leave work, wherever they are. Some people head to cottages, which I would love to do if I could afford it. The lottery jackpots are climbing. If I won I'd be doing a happy dance.Dance

Beautiful day and all that jazz

Concert promoters are thinking of getting the rock band U2 or other bands to go to Halifax to the Commons. That would be great. Jon Bono, the lead singer has done alot of work worldwide.

Rolling Stones- Alice Cooper Concert

Last night's concert was attended by 50,000 people from as far away as the United States and Ontario. It poured out, but people's spirits were not dampened as they  braved the  rain and cold  weather. Some people had camped  out since Friday to see the bands. And others stood in line for hours to get into the Commons. Twelve people were arrested for intoxication during and after the concert. There were many police, security and camera crews around. Fans were soaken and cold after the concert, but happy with the event.

The Rolling Stones were mentioned in the media more than Alice Cooper. Alice was big from the 70's to the 90's.  Fans were very impressed with The Rolling Stones and Alice Cooper.

The Rolling Stones In Town

The music group The Rolling Stones, will be performing along with Alice Cooper, in my province Sep 23-Saturday. In the city of Halifax. Tickets cost over $60.00, and scalpers  were charging people up to $100, and more for tickets.  Over 60,000 people are expected. I don't know where everyone is going to fit. It's going to be a real mess. It'll be at a city  park, the length of a ball field, and it won't fit all those people for sure. People will be sitting on people's lawns and causing a commotion. Citizens were saying on the  news that they are concerned for their property when the concerts on and afterwards. Some of the crowd will be drunk too.

I like the Rolling Stones but I  wouldn't want to be there when the concert is on.

Got temporary work

Went for a job interview yesterday again with an employment agency.  Got a temporary job at a store warehouse. Putting security tags on clothing. I had a large volume of clothes to do. What a hard job.And alot of standing involved.  They definitely should pay more for that work. Hope to find better work later.

Today Is A New Day

Woke up this morning and saw ducks on the front lawn. I don't want to feed them in front of my house. So I  go over to the pond and feed the critters. Also dropped off another resume. Not sure about the job, ..

Happy lottery day for anyone playing today. I bought a bucko ticket, didn't win. Maybe tomorrow. Also may purchase keno tickets again sometime. That's a good game, if you can win it.

It's supposed to rain today, it's humid and muggy out.

Good day friends

Went to a health job fair

Read in the newspaper that they were having a health job fair  today for people working in the health field in hospitals, or other care facilities, or people interested in going into these professions. There were recruiters from all over United States and Canada.

Alot of people showed up to attend this.  I've volunteered at a hospital and nursing home but never worked there. In the future I may though. If I was to ever travel to work. I would like to try Alberta,  Canada, possibly or California or Connecticut in the United states. Maybe.

Day of the ducks!

Today when I woke up, my mother  and I saw the ducks outside on the front lawn, searching for food in the grass. Our hearts  went out to them.  I had run out of cracked corn and went to the store and bought a few bags. Most people feed them bread, that's why they are always hungry.

I checked my lottery tickets too , the 649, and keno. No winners this morning. Hopefully next time.

God bless

Won on Keno lottery

I purchased a keno ticket yesterday. I had a feeling to stop in a certain store, and got a insta pick , 5 numbers, placed $1.00 bet, instead of $2.00 which I should of . And got 4 out of 5 numbers for a $10 prize.  If I  had spent $2.00 instead I would have won $20 or up, which would have been even better.

Payday lottery and hungry ducks

Bought a payday lottery ticket and  had 2 out of 4 numbers. Won another $ 2.00. I would love to hit top prize with that lottery. Which is $500,000.

I heard on the news that Alberta was getting snow. It's pretty cold up in the mountains.

I'm still job hunting, hope to find work soon.  Also I ran out of cracked corn for the hungry ducks I feed. They walk up to me looking for food. Have to go buy some more corn sometime.

take care, friends
