How Do You Calculate these Odds?
Can someone tell me what the odds for this are and how did you calculate it: Lotto Max is a Canadian lottery game. It is a 7/49 game. For $5, you get three lines. So the odds of winning the jackpot, per ticket are 1-in-28,633,528. For the February 26 draw, the jackpot is $50 million. In addition to the jackpot draw, there will be 9 additional unique bonus draws (Called Maxmillions), with each draw being a $1 million prize. The odds for each of the draws are the same, 1-in-28,633,528, pe

Odds calculator help...
Do anyone in here is a math wiz? Does anyone know how to calculate the odds of a game that selects X amount of numbers but where you have to match X - 1 to win, Example, a pick6 1-45 lottery that draws 6 numbers but you have to match 5 to win? Here in Ga we have a game called: win for life where players choose 6 numbers to win and the lotto selects 6 numbers from 1 to 42 and a mega ball from 1 to 42 (making it 7 numbers in total) but you must match 6 numbers to win? Can anybody teach me the

What are the odds
Are the lines you play giving you the best bang for your dollar? Note! The cNr calculations are done using the standard windows calculator set to scientific mode. I have gone over this several times to reduce errors but some may still exist. My left hand types faster than my right which causes hard to find errors in the number values. With that being said, here we go. I will keep this simple as possible so that everyone regardless of you math level will be able to understand it. I

Would the odds be 29.6% divided by 2,divided by 2 ,divided by 2 ,etc... 17 x ? thanks in advance , J

How does Powerball calculate their odds?
On their website, they have the odds of picking the Power Ball alone ($3 prize) listed as 1:70.39.I have no idea how they arrived at this as there are 42 Power Balls total. Wouldn't the odds of picking the Power Ball be 1:42? Unless there is some hidden variable I'm not considering.I have a strong feeling that I am going to win the Power Ball sometime in the near future...it's just a matter of time. It's difficult to explain but I dream about winning the Power Ball on almost a nightly basis.

calculate the odds
I have become very interested in studing the odds of winning the various lottery games. It seems that the 5 number game in most cases is the better bet to win rather than a 6 number or a powerball game.Have a question on odds calculation and hope someone here can help. The odds calculation is pretty starightforward and rather simple. (ie; 1/(5/39*4/38*3/37*2/36*1/35)=575,757 to 1 odds) for a 5/39 game. The play ticket usually explains the odds for the various prize levels but also added is what

Can math and logic improve chances of winning a jackpot?
The drawing results tell the real odds of winning the jackpot. It sure looks like you have two chances on one ticket to win the All or Nothing jackpot, but after they drawn the first number, one chance disappears so there really is only one chance. To win both of the two chances, a player must purchase two tickets and those tickets must have the opposite numbers. Players calculate their odds of winning the jackpot based on the number of chances they have to win as if each additional different
