Someone explain...
Depending on the overall odds of a 5% ratio difference within the 1 in 30 odds is sufficient in remeding both games whether any conclusion was made by the original 17% reduction. Also many of the overall odds are wagered by the games designer to proport an allocation of identical parameters, within a borderline of + or - 5 differnce through that particular prize structure inference.
If the payouts are 1/20 of the sub version of the old rules, then you would have to adjust the 12.6 percent va

Hmmm, law of averages perhaps ?

Probability of a rollover in PB and MM
For the first time in a millennium, the jackpot of a Canadian lottery exceeds its odds. The Lotto 6/49 jackpot for Saturday, August 7 is C$29 million while the odds of winning the jackpot is 1 in 27,967,632 per $1 wager. The approximate odds of the number of jackpot winners for Saturday are (based on 17 million tickets sold or C$34 million):0 - 30%1 - 36%2 - 22%3 - 9%4 or more - 3%Can Jake649 or prob987 please calculate the expected payout? This may be the closest that a Canadian lottery ever

Probability of a rollover in PB and MM
Lottofan:If you look back in this thread, you will see lots of discussion of my methods, including sales estimation (which I calculate from the predicted cash values.) Many other posters here made contributions and helped refine my estimates. They are just that though.Actually when the number of tickets is small when compared with the odds, the method yields values that are very close the type of calculation you suggest where the sales/odds percentage is subtracted from 100.

Yes, I do that quite often, and sometimes post the table here.
The most recent one was:

Actually, you calculate the total number of tickets printed from the top prize odds:
19 * 1,200,000 = 22,800,000
From there, you can get a more precise 1 in 3.502 overall odds, and do other analysis.
The overall odds really don't change much as the game progresses. I've seen a bunch of websites and tools that regularly pull the prize claims d

Look at this and calculate the Odds...
I don't play pick3 games but if I could calculate the odds that 5 numbers would not appear in a particular position for a period of time I would be playing because if I was right only half the time I could make money.
Pick3 is the combined random outcomes of 3 events that have 10 possible outcomes which equal 1000 possible out comes together. Eliminating 5 of those outcomes for each event would reduce the total possible outcomes to 125 instead of 1000 and covering those 125 outcomes would pay

Why would you look at numbers,

What are the combined odds for a Powerball ticket with a Double Play add on?
The odds of winning at least one prize with the double play are 1 in 12.69.
To work it out, first take the probability of winning nothing in a single drawing. That's 0.9597861595. Now the probability of winning nothing in two independent drawings is 0.9597861595*0.9597861595 = 0.921189472. So the probability of winning something in at least one of the drawings is 1 - 0.921189472 = 0.078810528. Then you calculate 1/0.078810528 to get the odds of 1 in 12.96.

Help with Odds Math - Excel maybe?
Hi Everyone;
I am trying to figure a way to produce the odds for wheeled combinations and not sure how to do it (I am not a math genius) and was wondering if anyone has done this before etc... my efforts searching the forums have not so far been productive. I have found the Odds Calculator here on the site and this works well but I am looking for more etc..
About 30 years ago I bought a little kit for lotto play and inside it, there was a simple chart...
What I want to do is make a
