Texas-comparing numbers/no 999 to date
Had some time on my hands.....
Texas has had 4820 drawings to date (through 10-6-2005). Here's how the numbers stack up (how many times each number has hit, in each position):
Position 1 Position 2 Position 3
#0
485 456 493
#1
479 465 491
#2
483 482 451
#3
471 486 497
#4
456 521 458
#5
470 473 448
#6
498 476 507
#7
512 472 484
#8
471 488 527
#9
495 501 464
Seems to me, the 9's have had as good a chance as any other number to hit a triple....but they never have. hmmmmm....a fluke?

Another copy of an email I received
Here is another email I received on the Katrina topic:
(From a McComb, Mississippi Resident)
To my friends and family:
What I have seen since Katrina:
The poor and the wealthy hurt by the storm.
Black, white, Hispanic, Oriental and Indian all hurt by the storm.
Christian people giving, giving, giving.
Churches going all out to minister in Jesus' name.
Neighbors going door to door helping one another.
Thugs and hoodlums going door to door looking for someone vulnerable.
Ice and water being fought over as police tried to keep the peace.
People coming up from New Orleans taking over empty houses because shelters
are full.
Out of town volunteers coming with food and staying for now a week still
serving it. (Mennonites, Baptist Men of Texas, Operation Blessing, etc.)
The Churches all over this part of the country doing what Christians do in
a crisis.
The Red Cross doing a great job in the shelters.
The Salvation Army doing a great job in the community.
Four hundred crewman from everywhere bring back the power to our homes,
churches and businesses.
Lines at service stations a block to a mile long.
National Guardsman patroling the streets of McComb along with Kentucky
policemen protecting us from the hoodlums and thugs of McComb, Pike County
and New Orleans (the most dangerous city in the world before Katrina.)
Drug dealers working outside shelters.
Doctors, nurses and other hospital personnel working tirelessly, even
sleeping in the hospital to do the job God called them to do.
WHAT I HAVE NOT SEEN;
The ACLU setting up a feeding line.
People for the American Way helping in the shelters.
The NAACP doing any work whatsoever.
The American Atheist organization serving meals in the shelters.
Jesse Jackson directing traffic at the gas stations.
I could go on but you get my message. It's the Christian/Jewish people
with love and compassion who do the work.
The gripers in Congress should come on down and get in line to pass the
water and the ice. Are you listening Hillary, Chuck, Teddy and all the
sorry loafers we call Senators and Congressmen. They don't have a clue as
to what this life is all about here on the Gulf Coast.
Boy I feel better now.

VTRAC-another "guess"
First off, let me say...."I think it's a fine thing what tntea is doing for everyone with Vtrac" [offering a free service, using her time]
Now, for my reason for this entry: choosing the correct VT is just like choosing the correct set of drawn numbers. Does one decide which VT to use by:
the hottest one running
the coldest
the most due
the overdue
or what?
True, it does narrow down the numbers to choose from....but, one has to be correct on which VT to use or you are back at square 1.....you know...the square where the lottery commission resides.
Years past, there was a website that offered free VT's daily for different states. Also, you could order their service. I co-purchased it with 2 friends for a month or so, and it wasn't all that great (at least, it didn't cost us much ).
Again, it goes back to picking out the right VT's to use. It is not a sure win factor, just like any other "system" out there.
I think the word gamble should be made into 2 words: guessing-game.
Copy of an Email I received
After seeing "Ant's" post, I decided to share this with everyone.
Please keep in mind, I am not the originator of this, I only received this email. I don't know how much of it is true, but, we need to keep our minds OPEN and wait for all the facts. The subject title is:
The Truth is out There-But Media cannot find it
This is a post from a fellow over in Merritt Is, FL, a reporter who's been
researching what went on before the storm hit the GulfCoast.
I think all of Mayor Nagin's pomp and posturing is going to bite him hard in the
near future as the lies and distortions of his interviews are coming to
light.
On Friday night before the storm hit Max Mayfield of the National Hurricane
Center took the unprecedented action of calling Nagin (Mayor of New Orleans)
and Blanco (Governor of New Orleans) personally
to plead with them to begin MANDATORY evacuation of New Orleansand they said they'd
take it under consideration. This was after the NOAA buoy 240 miles south
had recorded 68 ft waves before it was destroyed.
President Bush spent Friday afternoon and evening in meetings with his
advisors and administrators drafting all of the paperwork required for a
state to request federal assistance (and not be in violation of the Posse
Comitatus Act or having to enact the Insurgency Act). Just before midnight
Friday evening the President called Governor Blanco and pleaded with her to
sign the request papers so the federal government and the military could
legally begin mobilization and call up. He was told that they didn't think
it necessary for the federal government to be involved yet. After the
President's final call to the governor she held meetings with her staff to
discuss the political ramifications of bringing federal forces. It was
decided that if they allowed federal assistance it would make it look as if
they had failed so it was agreed upon that the feds would not be invited in.
Saturday before the storm hit the President again called Blanco and Nagin
requesting they please sign the papers requesting federal assistance, that
they declare the state an emergency area, and begin mandatory evacuation.
After a personal plea from the President Nagin agreed to order an
evacuation, but it would not be a full mandatory evacuation, and the
governor still refused to sign the papers requesting and authorizing federal
action. In frustration the President declared the area a national disaster
area before the state of Louisianadid so he could legally begin some
advanced preparations. Rumor has it that the President's legal advisers were
looking into the ramifications of using the insurgency act to bypass the
Constitutional requirement that a state request federal aid before the
federal government can move into state with troops - but that had not been
done since 1906 and the Constitutionality of it was called into question to
use before the disaster.
Throw in that over half the federal aid of the past decade to NO for levee
construction, maintenance, and repair was diverted to fund a marina and
support the gambling ships. Toss in the investigation that will look into
why the emergency preparedness plan submitted to the federal government for
funding and published on the city's website was never implemented and in
fact may have been bogus for the purpose of gaining additional federal
funding as we now learn that the organizations identified in the plan were
never contacted or coordinating into any planning - though the document
implies that they were.
The suffering people of NO need to be asking some hard questions as do we
all, but they better start with why Blanco refused to even sign the
multi-state mutual aid pack activation documents until Wednesday which
further delayed the legal deployment of National Guard from adjoining
states. Or maybe ask why Nagin keeps harping that the President should have
commandeered 500 Greyhound busses to help him when according to his own
emergency plan and documents he claimed to have over 500 busses at his
disposal to use between the local school busses and the city transportation
busses - but he never raised a finger to prepare them or activate them.
This is a sad time for all of us to see that a major city has all but been
destroyed and thousands of people have died with hundreds of thousands more
suffering, but it's certainly not a time for people to be pointing fingers
and trying to find a bigger dog to blame for local corruption and
incompetence. Pray to God for the survivors that they can start their lives
anew as fast as possible and we learn from all the mistakes to avoid them in
the future.

I didn't line up very good where the 381 and 163 belongs.
You should be able to Copy/Paste these formulas into the worksheet. PASTE THEM STARTING IN A3. Type your numbers in the top 2 lines.
Excel formula for Random picker
To produce 1 set of three numbers, type formula in Column (A):
=INT(RAND()*999)
Using 3 columns to produce 1# in each, type this formula, then copy to (B) (C):
=MOD((INT(RAND()*10)+1),10)
To change/generate a different answer, Click F9. You can hold F9 down or just touch it once. It will ask each time you open it, if you want to save…only need to save the FIRST time.
For other lottery games, you can use this formula…just change the “53” to match the number of balls used in the game you are working with:
=INT(RAND()*53)+1
If it is 5 balls, plus a bonus: insert formula into 5 columns and in 6th-change number to match balls for the Bonus drawing, if different from the first ones.
Formula for putting draws into series order
I keep a complete history of Texas Pick3:
Columns: A - S
Date Drawn | Order Drawn | Series Order | 1 Column | 1 Column | PAIRS
6 | 18 | 2005 | 2 | 6 | 6 | 2 | 6 | 6 | 266 | 266 | 2 | 6 | 2 | 6 | 6 | 6 | 14
6 | 20 | 2005 | 4 | 3 | 4 | 3 | 4 | 4 | 344 | 434 | 3 | 4 | 3 | 4 | 4 | 4 | 11 |
Type this in Columns G, H, I:
=IF(ISBLANK($D3:$F3),"",MIN($D3:$F3)) | =IF(ISBLANK($D3:$F3),"",MEDIAN($D3:$F3)) | =IF(ISBLANK($D3:$F3),"",MAX($D3:$F3)) |
=IF(ISBLANK($D4:$F4),"",MIN($D4:$F4)) | =IF(ISBLANK($D4:$F4),"",MEDIAN($D4:$F4)) | =IF(ISBLANK($D4:$F4),"",MAX($D4:$F4)) |
If the other formulas are need (to combine 3 Col into 1 Col, I can add them too.
Good luck
