What strategy do you use for playing the lottery?

When it comes to the lottery, everybody seems to have a way they play. Some folks stick to their favorite numbers like gospel, while others follow patterns, systems, or even astrology. I've never liked math, so I've never stuck with an actual system to pick my numbers although I have tried.  Maybe I waste more money that way 🤷🏽‍♀️ but I want my plays to be fun and not a chore.  Some people gamble for a living so they work their numbers like a full time job (kudos to them though)  I don't. Anyway I'm curious as to what most posters here do to pick their numbers, there are soooo many different ways.    I'm using this post to highlight some of them below.

1. Birthdays and Anniversaries

This is probably the most common method. People use the birthdays of their kids, parents, partners—or even their wedding anniversary. These dates hold emotional value, and many folks feel like that personal connection gives them a little edge. The only downside? These usually fall between 1–31, so you might miss out on higher numbers in games that go beyond that range.

2. Quick Picks

This is for the folks who believe in pure chance. A Quick Pick randomly generates your numbers, and interestingly enough, a good number of jackpot winners have won using this method. Sometimes letting the machine decide can be just as lucky as a carefully thought-out combo.

3. Number Frequency (Hot & Cold Numbers)

Some players track which numbers have been drawn the most (hot numbers) and which ones haven’t shown up in a while (cold numbers). The idea is either to ride the wave of frequently appearing numbers or bet on the cold ones making a comeback.

4. Pattern Betting

This is when people play numbers in a visual pattern on their play slip—like diagonal lines, zigzags, or shapes. It’s more fun than scientific, but hey, sometimes it’s just about what feels right when you’re picking your numbers.

5. Using Dreams or Signs

Now this one? This is more my lane. Some players interpret dreams, signs, or spiritual nudges. Maybe you see a number in your sleep or it keeps showing up in your daily life. A clock, a receipt, a license plate—if it calls to you, you play it. It’s all about intuition and faith.

6. Wheeling Systems

Wheeling is a more mathematical approach, where you play combinations of a larger group of numbers to cover more outcomes. It can get pricey, but people who take their lottery playing seriously sometimes swear by it.

7. Repeating Numbers

Some folks believe consistency is key. They’ll play the same set of numbers every day or every draw—week in and week out. And when that number finally hits, they’re ready. Like I learned with 637: if it’s meaningful, play it more than once.

There’s no guaranteed way to win the lottery—but that’s part of the thrill. The strategy you use should be whatever makes the game feel exciting, personal, and maybe even a little magical. Whether you’re team Quick Pick, team intuition, or team numbers-and-logic, the key is to enjoy the process.  Share how you play in the comments!!!

Celebrating Small Victories – Because They Matter

Yesterday afternoon, just out of the blue I decided to play a couple of rolling cash 5 tickets. I usually don't participate in that game. In the past I haven't had much luck in big jackpot games. But, something told me to play this time, since I was still bummed out from my loss the night before....and wouldn't you know it, I hit 4 out of 5 numbers on the Rolling Cash 5—and let me tell you, I picked those numbers myself. Each one had personal meaning. These weren’t random quick picks; they were tied to my life, my memories, and little signs I’d picked up throughout the week.

That's not all—the one number I missed was also one that holds significance for me. That stung a little, not gonna lie, the jackpot was up to $265k at the time of that drawing!!!  But instead of focusing on the one that got away, I chose to celebrate the four I did get right. That was a win in my book, and trust me I thanked the Lord as soon as i saw that I had won something because I realize He didn't have to bless me with anything!!!

It reminded me just how important it is to recognize and celebrate small victories—in the lottery and in life. Not every win will be big and flashy. Sometimes, the real magic is in the quiet, steady progress we make day by day.

Maybe your small win isn’t lottery-related. Maybe it’s finally folding that pile of laundry that’s been staring you down all week. Maybe it’s getting through a tough day at work without losing your cool. Maybe it’s choosing to drink water instead of your favorite pop- mine is vernors 😝 , or speaking up for yourself in a moment when you usually would’ve stayed quiet.

These wins count, too. They’re signs that you’re growing, healing, showing up for yourself in small but meaningful ways. And when you add them up, those little moments build real momentum.

So yes, I’m proud of that Rolling Cash 5 win. But I’m also proud when I stay consistent, when I take care of my mental health, or when I find joy in the everyday. Don’t wait for the “big” moment to feel proud of yourself. Celebrate those small victories—they matter more than you think.

Last night's win reminded me to keep trusting myself, to keep listening to what feels right, and to never overlook the beauty of the small stuff.

Good luck to everyone playing this holiday weekend!!

Why You Should Always Play Your Numbers More Than One Day

Whew—let me tell y’all what happened to me today. I played 637, in the Ohio lottery for May 22, 2025. I had a feeling about it, you know, so I played it a couple of times Backup. Something about that number kept tugging at me. But I only played it for that one day.

Well, wouldn’t you know—637 came out straight the very next day. I just sat there staring at my phone, you’ve got to be kidding me. That number was right there, so close, and I missed it by one day. And this is just one of many times that's I have had this happen to me.

I get it, we have to all play responsibly, and I personally have an allowance so when I exhaust my lottery money that's it  ---I can't allow myself to play anymore until it's replenished 🤷🏽‍♀️ so that's why I didn't play it this time around.  We can only play so much. At the same time we shouldn't be trying to play every single number we feel good about because that stuff adds up, quick!!!  Don't go broke trying to get rich!!

That’s why I’m here to say: when you do decide to take a chance and play some numbers, don’t just play your numbers once and walk away. If something feels right, if a number keeps showing up in your spirit, play it more than one day. Back it up for a few days. Play it in advance. Cover your bases. Because the lottery doesn’t care about timing—it moves how it wants to move, and those numbers can pop out when you least expect it.

From now on,  If it’s on my heart, I’m playing it a few days out. Lesson learned. So if you’ve got a number that means something to you, trust it—and stay ready. Because when your number finally hits, you want to be holding that ticket, not a story about how close you came.

Why I like playing the lottery, and a little about me

Playing the lottery has always been fun to me. My maternal grandfather who has long past on used to play all the time, and I guess that's where I got introduced.  I don’t have a fancy system or follow charts or statistics—nah, I just go with what feels right. I play off my dreams, things I see during the day, or random numbers that pop up and just speak to me. It might sound strange to some, but for me, it’s not. It’s about listening to my surroundings and my subconscious mind and going through with playing what comes up for me.

Sometimes I’ll have a dream with a specific number in it, or I’ll see the same digits over and over throughout the day—on receipts, license plates, or clocks—and I’ll think, let me try playing THAT one. Those are the little signs I trust. I don’t play every day, but when I do, I make sure I have faith in the numbers I play. If I have any doubt in my mind, I won't do it. It’s less about hitting the jackpot (though I wouldn’t mind!) and more about that feeling of intuition.

I don't tend to post all of my numbers here and I don't post on this website everyday.  I have long been an avid and lucid dreamer and many of my dreams have come true which is honestly scary for me.  It's  not just about numbers but the messaging behind my dreams.  My mom had cancer, my uncle a stroke, Trump winning his first election, neighbors putting up a fence,  and they were all premonitions. I've had sososososo many over the years, too many to list on this here blog.   Because of that, I decided some time ago to try to play numbers that are attached to what comes to me while I'm sleep and see what happens with that  and it's worked out a bit more than I initially anticipated it would.

I carry a lot—responsibility, love, history, strength—and sometimes I  just need something simple that brings a little light or excitement in my day. SOMETIMES For me, that’s the lottery. It’s a quiet joy, a moment to believe that maybe, just maybe, today could be the day everything shifts. Most of the time though I'd rather be tending to my plants, playing with my dogs, spending time with my daughter or husband, working on my personal blogs or doing my absolute favorite--- retail therapy, which I also need a lot of expendable money for in order to really enjoy  🤑 lol!!!

And even if I don’t win, I still hold onto that faith. Because let's be honest, you never know when your number’s gonna come up.

If youve stumbled across my lottery blog I wish you the best of luck and many blessings in whatever you choose to play.
