• The KGB cultivated Donald Trump as an asset for 40 years and he proved a highly valuable asset in repeating anti-western Russian propaganda, a former KGB operative has claimed.
• Yuri Shvets told the Guardian that the KGB had identified Trump as a potential asset in the 1980s.
• He says they were stunned when he returned from a trip from Moscow and took out a full-page advert in newspapers repeating anti-western Russian talking points.

The White House’s top lawyer is reportedly warning staffers not to contact  Donald Trump  over fears that they could join him in being charged with treason, a report claims.

Vanity Fair  reported that there was panic among staffers after violence broke out at the U.S. Capitol as angry supporters of the president stormed the building, forcing members of Congress to go into hiding. Some of them feared that they could be implicated in a coup to overthrow the government, and were advised to steer clear of Trump.

“The West Wing staffer told the friend that White House Counsel Pat Cipollone was urging White House officials not to speak to Trump or enable his coup attempt in any way, so they could reduce the chance they could be prosecuted for treason under the Sedition Act,” the outlet noted.

• Donald Trump's 'voter fraud hotline' has closed after a TikTok trend led to it being inundated with a flurry of prank calls.
• The service was set up at the Trump campaign's headquarters in Arlington, Virginia to record alleged incidents of voter fraud.
• TikTok users soon began uploading videos of themselves calling with fake claims and recording the reaction of the operator, a trend which later spread to Twitter.
• The hotline has since been replaced with an  online form,  which has already been flooded with lewd images, the entire Bee Movie script and more, according to  Newsweek.
