"....Federal sources said a grand jury has been convened involving McCabe and Strzok — and other former FBI — and the evidence gathered by federal officials during their final weeks at the FBI will be front and center but the grand jury will also be examining other violations during their official tenures at FBI.

“Huber is running a grand jury from what I hear,” a DOJ source confirmed, calling the entire process ‘Hush” given the high-profile FBI-linked players involved. “There is so much to tackle but from what I know, the grand jury is now moving into the witness phase.”

Utah US attorney John Huber was selected by Sessions to examine Republican claims of FBI misconduct and the FBI’s failure to examine Hillary Clinton’s ties to a Russian nuclear agency.

Sessions quietly tapped Huber in 2017 to work with the Justice Department’s inspector general. It appears the Justice Department is taking FBI corruption probes to the next level.

"At the request of a number of committees of Congress, and for reasons of transparency, the President has directed the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the Department of Justice (including the FBI) to provide for the immediate declassification of the following materials: (1) pages 10-12 and 17-34 of the June 2017 application to the FISA court in the matter of Carter W. Page; (2) all FBI reports of interviews with Bruce G. Ohr prepared in connection with the Russia investigation; and (3) all FBI reports of interviews prepared in connection with all Carter Page FISA applications.

In addition, President Donald J. Trump has directed the Department of Justice (including the FBI) to publicly release all text messages relating to the Russia investigation, without redaction, of James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, and Bruce Ohr."

" ....Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry told PJ Media that investigating Facebook and Google on anti-trust and consumer protection issues “shouldn’t be a partisan issue.”

“I’ve got some Democratic AG friends that are concerned about the anti-trust position in the market in relation to the consumer,” Landry said. “The same fundamentals that allow Facebook or Google to control the free market and hurt consumers are the same fundamentals that allow them to suppress content.”

Landry accused social media companies of creating “a virtual fence around the free market.”

Chris Gacek, a senior fellow at the Family Research Council, said that “you probably only need five states” to get involved in pressuring the tech giants “and you can really mess these guys up.” ...

The Manafort Plea Agreement

THE MANAFORT PLEA AGREEMENT

On Friday Paul Manafort agreed to a guilty plea to resolve the pending federal charges against him in the District of Columbia (the pending charges set forth in a superseding criminal information), the charges remaining against him in the Eastern District of Virginia and to the related charge of obstruction of justice. None of it has anything ot do with the Trump presidential campaign, of course, but the agreement leaves open the possibility that Manafort might be prosecuted “for any crimes not included within th[e] agreement.” I have embedded a copy of the letter agreement below via Scribd.
