Ex-FBI Asst. Director Says Upcoming Inspector General Report Is "Pure TNT"

Ex-FBI Asst. Director Says Upcoming Inspector General Report Is "Pure TNT"

Source: ZeroHedge

".....The Inspector General's report is thought to include evidence of outgoing Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe ordering agents to alter "302" forms - the paperwork an agent files after interviewing someone.

Horowitz is also reportedly homing in on McCabe's handling of the Anthony Weiner laptop after reports emerged that he wanted to avoid taking action on the FBI's findings until after the 2016 election.

The inspector general, Michael E. Horowitz,  has been asking witnesses why FBI leadership seemed unwilling to move forward on the examination of emails found on the laptop of former congressman Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.)until late October — about three weeks after first being alerted to the issue, according to these people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the sensitive matter.  A key question of the internal investigation is whether McCabe or anyone else at the FBI wanted to avoid taking action on the laptop findings until after the Nov. 8 election, these people said. It is unclear whether the inspector general has reached any conclusions on that point. -WaPo

In January, Fox's Sean Hannity sat down with journalist Sara Carter - who shed light on the McCabe situation, saying that FBI Director Christopher Wray was "shocked to his core" after reading the GOP-authored "FISA" memo describing FBI malfeasance surrounding the 2016 U.S. election: ...."

Sessions Sacks Andrew Mccabe

Quick concise read. Quote below in case the news left those facts out.

SESSIONS SACKS ANDREW MCCABE

"...As to the firing, it was recommended by the FBI office that handles discipline. The recommendation was based on findings by the DOJ’s inspector general investigation. The IG found that McCabe authorized the disclosure of sensitive information to the media about a Clinton-related case and then misled investigators about having done so. ...."

Obama DOJ Ordered 500,000 Fugitives Deleted From Background Check Database

Obama DOJ Ordered 500,000 Fugitives Deleted From Background Check Database

The Obama administration ordered the removal of over 500,000 fugitives with outstanding arrest warrants from the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) in late 2016, according to testimony from Acting FBI Deputy Director David Bowdich.

Bowdich confirmed a November report from the  Washington Post  which set the figure at "tens of thousands," after Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) asked him if more than 500,000 names were dropped from the database.

The FBI purged the names from the database  after the Justice Department changed its legal interpretation of “fugitive from justice”  to say it pertains only to wanted people who have crossed state lines.

What that means is that those fugitives who were previously prohibited under federal law from purchasing firearms can now buy them, unless barred for other reasons. -WaPo

That was a decision that was made under the previous administration,” Bowdich testified.

“It was the Department of Justice’s Office of Legal Counsel that reviewed the law and believed that it needed to be interpreted so that if someone was a fugitive in a state, there had to be indications that they had crossed state lines,” said Bowdich. “Otherwise they were not known to be a fugitive under the law in the way it was interpreted.

Amazon Japan Raided For Antitrust Violations, "Cooperation Payments"

Amazon Japan Raided For Antitrust Violations, "Cooperation Payments"

"There was a time when the phrase "cooperation payments" evoked images of burly, muscle-bound goons, walking around town, sometimes armed with a baseball bat but usually relying only on their reputation of being able to extract cold hard cash from local merchants in exchange for "protection". This morning in Japan, it appears nothing has changed.

According to Japanese press this morning, Amazon Japan is being investigated by the country's antitrust regulator on  allegations of asking vendors for a percentage of their sales revenue.

As the  Nikkei reports, the Japanese arm of the U.S. e-commerce giant whose name had already appeared increasingly in discussions of market monopolies and anti-trust violations,  began requesting its vendors contribute "cooperation payments" from around 2017,  claiming that the contributions would be used for system upgrades and other improvements.  The requested payments ranged from a few percent to well over 10% of sales prices.  The company is also alleged to have requested vendors help absorb the costs of discounting goods. ...."
