His administration ended with Iraq pacified and reasonably calm, and with pro-Western and anti-jihadist elements strengthened in Iran and Syria. Unfortunately, he was succeeded by an administration that failed to support those forces in Iran in 2009, or in Syria in 2011.

Everyone does not agree with the assumption that Bush was right. Mission was not accomplished.

Speedy, ask yourself this question? Were things better in the Middle East, when the Bush era ended, than they are now, under Obuma? If your answer is anything other than YES, you are lying to yourself.

Carbob, that's like asking was the economy better? You can keep convincing yourself it was better, but the years there, billions spent, and the thousands of lives lost looking for a needle in a hay stack will prove you and anyone else wrong every time. Many Americans can see clearly now. So what is wrong with your understanding?

Speedy, you are such a liar, I saw that interview with Rumsfeld, He said AT FIRST he didn't think Democracy was possible in Iraq, he didn't say he thought Bush was wrong.
Instead of reading some left-wing nut job, go right to Rumsfeld spoken words, you sam!

LiLSpeedyComment by LiLSpeedy - June 9, 2015, 11:47 am
Sully you are as ignorant as they come. Rumsfeld is flip-flopping stupid. If anyone is a liar it is Rumsfeld. Your problem is that you read but not comprehend what you read. You are a Rushbo groupie that can't think for your pathetic self.

I didn't have to read anything, I watched the interview.
Talk about stupid, you believe what you read. Listen to the words coming out of his mouth instead of some loons slanted point of view, you useless DH.

Sully it's your fault you are uneducated and can't grasp things quick. Unlike you, I read and study more than one source of media. So get mad with Sully if you don't understand. So piss-off A-H.

Sully, what you are trying to say is illogical. You are just another big mouth talking gibberish. I fought and served my country, what have you done besides talk S#IT and complain?

I could care less what you believe. My friends that know me by other than Lilspeedy knows that it is fact. Ridge was the same way, now he is no longer with us.

Sully, you are your worse enemy. Making fun of the poor will bring you much misfortune, if it already hadn't begun for you. You are talking yourself into hard times.

Bush was perhaps most like Truman, who got the big picture right and laid the groundwork for a reasonably successful U.S. foreign policy for subsequent decades. But Truman, who left office even less popular than Bush, had a responsible and COMPETENT Successor. Bush had NO SUCH LUCK.
Sully, there is a big difference between Intelligence and Ignorance and you've spoken nothing but Intelligence.

If Bush was so right about Iraq, why did he go in Afghanistan? Even the Russians said the hell with Afghanistan. It's hard enough to fight one war, to fight two is poor judgment. It's easy for someone to say we should've done this or we should have done that. If you have never been in the military you don't know what in the hell you are talking about. One day in a war zone is never the same the next day. Some of you so called experts need to go see what it's like in a war zone then maybe you will STFU!

Wow, if that's not the kettle calling the pot black. You've never been in a war zone HOMIE.
If you even were in the military, you were either a cook or supply clerk. Trying to make yourself look better amongst your people for any reason??

If I'm not mistaken you were on a ship, so you wouldn't know. It is what it is, I and thousands others were drafted. It is a known fact blacks were sent to Vietnam far more than white. Whites went into the reserves or Canada. I don't have to make up anything, I have all the proof I need hanging on my wall, pictures, and scrapbooks. Just because you don't have anything to show, don't feel bad, you should get on your knees and pray every night that you didn't have to go. There was nothing romantic about being sent there at the age of 18.

Well you are mistaken because I wasn't on a ship, I was Army, 5th Special Forces. I was on the ground in country. So, no I am not sadly mistaken. You're so full of s**t about just whites going into the reserves or going to Canada. I spent my time in Nam multiple times 67, 68, 71. By the way I've got plenty to show for it.

Your democratic logic doesn't jive with statistics. You feeling sorry for yourself because you're black and think you've been manipulated doesn't carry any substance, it's like a fart in the wind.. You want true statistics, go to the " www.americanwarlibrary/vietnam". Here are the true facts:

88.4% Of the men who actually served in Vietnam were Caucasian; 10.6% (275,000) were Black; 1% belonged to other races.

•86.3% Of the men who died in Vietnam were Caucasian (Includes Hispanics); 12.5% (7,241) Were Black; 1.2% Belonged to other races.

•170,000 Hispanics served in Vietnam; 3,070 (5.2% Of total) died there.

•70% Of enlisted men killed were of Northwest European Descent.

•86.8% Of the men who were killed as a result of hostile action were Caucasian; 12.1% (5,711) Were Black; 1.1% Belonged to other races.

•14.6% (1,530) Of Non-Combat deaths were among Blacks.

•34% OF Blacks who enlisted volunteered for the combat arms.

I'd really like to know what your logic is now, since you've now gotten the true FACTS....

Now give the percentage that ran to Canada like cowards and the ones that played it safe by going into the reserves. The truth of the matter is that all races fought for the American cause. All suffered losses. Blacks suffered greater because at that time we were not 14% of the population. The black males decreased in number significantly mainly due to the many s#it assignments handed them. Yes, racism was in the military too. That is why you made the reference" If you even were in the military, you were either a cook or supply clerk. Trying to make yourself look better amongst your people for any reason??"
I had no such luck Captain America, So I like many others was placed in Infantry. I rarely talk about what happened over there, but where I do it is with people that were there.
