13 stars on the Confederate flag, 11 states seceded. Missouri and Kentucky had representatives both in the Union states and Confederate states.
So much for who is low informed.
Explain to me why the retirement home for Confederate soldiers was in northwest Missouri.
The 13 stars represent the 11 states of the Confederacy as well as Kentucky and Missouri, two slave states that were claimed by the Confederacy but never actually seceded during the Civil War.
