South Carolina Government Did Right Thing, WTG!!

As I stated earlier, if you can not be safe in a church, then you can not be safe no where. That statement was in referenced to the Charleston shooting. There are way to many Black and White Racists running loose in this country. I for one, never believed the "Rebel Flag", stood for bigotry, just a symbol from the Civil War. I am very proud to see the people of Charleston chose a different route, than the people in Baltimore, no riots. Now the flag can be stored in a museum, where it should have been. Maybe the people who govern the City of Baltimore can learn from the actions of the people who govern South Carolina, and the correct way to do business.

My reason for following this story is, I was raised on a farm, in N.C, about a hundred yards from S.C state line. My mom would would not allow me to attend school in N.C. I walked from our home across the state line and caught the bus for 12 years.

Carbob exactly what's the point here .To a thinking person words speaks volume so what does that say about your mom. It's not flattening to a person of color thinking. Didn't you read the history of the slave trade on the shores of your two states NC and SC and how they fought for their rights to buy and sell human being. Are you kidding when you say that you didn't know that flag was a symbol of hate when the KKK carried that flag to all their raids of the" burning" of Black homes and churches. This suppose to be your birth place and you didn't know that history of Treasonist act of the south. Surprise !

My family was not associated with the KKK. There were no classes in school about slave trade. My father, nor his father had slaves. We were not in the slave business. My mom did not like the teachers in the local school, where my older brothers attended. Not interested in reading about slave trade. The union army had their flag and the rebel army had their flag. The flag meant nothing else to me. I don't like hate groups, including KKK, Black Panthers, Skinheads. All of them are useless as T$ts on a boar hog.

Carbob in no way did I mention your family that you know of was part of the KKK don't put words in my thoughts. My surprise came when people as yourself claim they never heard of that flag representing hate when the KKk had it as their battle flags against Blacks when they hung them from trees burn down houses, business and yes churches even in my life time. You don't have to be educated to know that . It's just a know fact across America. Especially the south.

Just because the KKK used the flag, does not make the rest of the southerners think of the flag as a symbol of hate. The flag was not made to be use at their dumb-a$$ rallies. That was a choice they made.
