Funny (and sad) that the media keeps comparing Obama to Reagan. It's like an obsession -- probably to try to redefine who Reagan was and what he stood for. The media can't stand the fact that Reagan succeeded so broadly in bringing America back from the Carter disaster.

In addition to saving the country, Reagan single-handedly brought the Republican party back into a position of strength, not only with the presidency, but the Congress. In this way, Obama is actually the anti-Reagan: the country is much worse-off under Obama, the Democrat party has weakened greatly under Obama, and they lost a great deal of power, going from complete control of the presidency, House, and Senate to the loss of the House and Senate -- and a very weak presidential slate for 2016.

It's like comparing a Shining Apple to a Dried Grape. No comparison whatsoever.
IMHO Obama and Reagan shouldn't be used collectively in any comparison.

You're right, there is no comparison of the two. The times were different and the economies were different. I was in my second year as a teacher when Reagan was elected. All the prosperity that was promised was only realized by the wealthy and corporations. None of the prosperity trickled down to the middle class during Reagan’s tenure as president. For many of us that were here we use to call it VOO-DOO Economics as coined by George H. Bush. I didn’t read about Reaganomics in some book, I experienced it! Now that is different from night and day.
