...the French ambassador to the United States, Gerard Araud, tweeted at Trump: "This message is repugnant in its lack of any human decency. Vulture."-
These are excerpts from the article where, clearly, Trump's agenda is guns and no laws when the problem was security and infiltration. Now, I can go along with the whole Syrian argument but, even then it still boils down to screening 'people of interest' and implementing more technology in terms of bombs/explosives detection. Here in the U.S. our issues are mainly the element of surprise compounded with the wrong people stock piling weapons and ammunition. Hell, I can be sitting inside Star Bucks locked and loaded along with five others. But, if some deranged fool who's went over the edge decides to rush in and unload an entire clip from an automatic weapon, our chances of getting hurt or killed are just as high due to the element of surprise.
Better protocols for detection, tracking, and the investigation of mentally ill and/or suspicious people is the key. Like it or not, it's gonna require profiling. If law enforcement can profile people in general for traffic stops, primarily blacks, then it makes more sense to profile people owning weapons and ammo. Then, track the sites they visit to see what they may be writing about and conduct an assessment for their possible state of mind. You know, it only takes one rifle to kill a bunch of people. A person can be strapped with three AR's and a 9mm but, only one weapon will do the killing for the most part.
So, as we can see, it's not an easy thing to do and more people packin' still won't override EOS...Element Of Surprise. The 2nd Amendment ain't gonna help ya if you don't have a chance to actually recognize the threat before it get's to you. Trump actually took a shot at the French President with that comment and you see how that went over.
