When I lived on Sanibel Island I had just gone through a life change. My job of 21 years ended and I lost my home. I left the area in which I had spent most of my life. I just packed up my car and drove south with my severance check. One night I woke up about 3AM, and when I turned on the lights in the bathroom, I just stared in the mirror. The face looking back at me was different. I whispered quietly "Wow, you're really getting older." It wasn't sad, it wasn't critical, just an observation. I'm starting to look a lot like my mother. Then I smiled and went back to bed.
