Osama bin Laden is dead again.

News reports based on a leaked document of uncorroborated secondhand French intelligence indicate that, once again, Osama bin Laden is dead.

There have been periodic reports of bin Laden's illness or death in recent years but none has been proven accurate.

I guess there's something about living on the lam in a cave that engenders such reports of mortal demise. Sooner or later, they'll be right, but I seriously doubt that it will make much difference. Osama has convinced too many desperate souls that their noblest purpose in life is to die.

Agree, Emily. bin Laden is a symbol. Hatred doesn't stop when one leader dies. When Hitler committed suicide the Nazis were already defeated. What we don't want is to capture someone like bin Laden alive. Then he will become a martyr for his followers. We've been told for 5 years that we need to give up our freedom and allow the government to invade our homes so we can be secure and protected from evil. What excuse will they give us when all the bad guys are caught?
