But he made time and travel to attend these:

    Senator Daniel Inouye (D-HI)
Less than two months before the 2012 election, both Obamas took time out of their schedule to attend the funeral of Senator Inouye. President Obama openly wept over the liberal senator.
    Hadiya Pendleton
Three days before his 2013 State of the Union address, President Obama sent Michelle on his behalf to the funeral of 15 year-old shooting victim Hadiya Pendleton. Obama’s decision to send Michelle to the Chicago teen’s funeral set the stage for his SOTU address, in which he called for further gun control restrictions.
    Senator Robert Byrd (D-WV)
Despite Robert Byrd’s well-known ties to the Ku Klux Klan, President Obama attended the Democratic senator’s funeral. Obama gave a speech at the ceremony and called the late senator his friend.
    Reverend Clementa Pinckney
Reverend Pinckney, who also served as a South Carolina state senator, was one of the nine people killed in the Charleston shooting last summer. Despite never having met Pinckney, President Obama delivered his eulogy.
Former Democratic House Speaker Tom Foley
Just six months after snubbing the funeral of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, President Obama attended the funeral of former Democratic Speaker of the House Tom Foley. As he tends to do when actually attending funerals, Obama delivered a speech.
    Walter Cronkite
When the legendary newscaster passed away in September 2009, President Obama found room in his schedule to travel to New York for the memorial service. Once again, Obama gave a speech at the service. He had openly admitted that he never met Cronkite.

barry is disgusting.

No one really cares how repubs that hate President Obama think about him not attending funeral. I'm sure the family members are already aware and has been informed.

Once again, Speedy, thanks for being the common sense adult here. Any fool would know not to attend a funeral full of folks that you know are racist, hate you, and don't want you there...period. It would almost be an insult both ways 'cause Obama knows how the man 'really felt'...as do the rest of us. It's actually more respectful to not attend and allow the family and friends to celebrate the man without the stresses of an outsider being present. As such, the President will acknowledge and pay his respects to Scalia at the court on Friday...which is where they all must attend as this was Scalia's home away from home so to speak.

As a side note, let's look at a connection which involves Scalia's last public impression. Remember how he made the assertion that blacks shouldn't be allowed in colleges like A&M? He said they should be directed to slower...LESSER colleges. Well, look at what just happened at A&M just a few days ago, Speedy, which has been hush, hush here and on the radio waves. None of the talking heads have touched this YET, and you know I keep tabs.

Two black kids were basically touring the college only to have RACIAL SLURS YELLED OUT AT THEM. Yeah that, after just A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO, Scalia down rated blacks' education privisions. Rush ran to protect Scalia...d*mned near broke his mic trying to justify Scalia. Now, with all his contacts and information, he refuses to tie these two stories together...and he knows. Yep, they call us Low Information and Libtards but, I proudly own those titles for reasons just like I've discussed here.

At present, the college is trying to gather 10,000 letters of apology to help address the infraction.
