One thing is for sure, though. We certainly haven't gained very much as a people which makes any loss very significant. The Democratic party isn't quite what it once was back in the day and, though I was young, I remember my dad talking with his friends about the who, what, and why of politics. Things were changing then as I often reflect back now.
