The Ten Commandements

the other day i posted Live the commandements. i could not for the life of me recall all 10. Figured other people might have same problem.

1. I am the Lord your God. You shall not have strange gods before me.

2. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.

3. Remember to keep holy the Lord's Day.

4. Honor your father and mother.

5. You shall not kill.

6. You shall not commit adultery.

7. You shall not steal.

8. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

9. You shall not desire your neighbor's wife.

10. You shall not desire your neighbor's goods.

imagine a world in which everyone followed this.

Something I can never remember is the '7 Deadly Sins'
1) Lust
2) Pride
3) Wrath
4) Sloth
5) Greed
6) Envy
7) Gluttony

On a more serious note...this world would be ideal if mankind would follow the 10 Commandents verbatim!!!! Just think...no more wars, no more murders, no more child abuse, and no more violence of any kind. You could sleep with your doors and windows wide open. You would fear no man because deep in your heart, you know that no man would harm you. Oh, what beautiful wishful thinking!!!! :)

back in the 60's when i first moved to ga. - we never locked our doors. i miss those days - long gone.

I hope nobody found my post to be offensive. Remember, God gave us humor. I think the 11th commandment was "Thou shalt laugh a little every day."

Actually, there are three versions of the Ten Commandments, Jewish, Catholic, and Protestant.
