I see nothing wrong with the flag or the hanging of it but, the Chief made the sole decision on this. No one was protesting, threatening, leaving notes, or anything of the sort. Yet, he saw it in the best interest while still fully supporting the force of the 'good officers.' The Chief is simply saying that the idea of possibly having more innocent officers sacrificed by someone who is clearly using a peaceful movement to do IS NOT AN OPTION. That's it. I feel the flag's blue strip is a form of speech and should be displayed because we do have scores of good 'law-abiding' officers...pun intended.

That said, the idea that the author of this piece would rather contend that it's the 'anti-police agitators' that are the problem here is questionable. The climax of the Baton Rouge shootings was done as soon as it happened and it's been quiet since then...on both ends of the spectrum. Much like a couple of ISIS members want to infiltrate a vetting process to do damage, it's exactly what happened in Dallas...he used the march. But, because some people don't want to see justice marches, they blamed the whole movement for what happened...they road brushed it which is wrong. This would be like me saying that because of A FEW, all Republicans and/or whites are just terrible, bad, racist, and hateful towards all blacks when I know this isn't true for myself. I honestly believe the Chief is genuinely concerned about his good guys by acknowledging sensitivity right now. Very complex.
