Spyware Advisory

Published:

There is a new Spyware out. Norton Antivirus program found it on my Computer yesterday. It had been planted in my ICQ folder. The file name is: actskin4.ocx. After I deleted that file, by going to Safe Mode, I did a search of my C:\ drive and found it in another location. This time it had created it's own folder called C:\!Submit\actskin4.ocx. You can read all about it in:

 http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/spyware.realspy.html

If you run a virus test on your computer, and it is not there, then do a search for actskin4.ocx. This thing is nasty. It can monitor your key strokes.

That's a mistake in Norton, actskin4.ocx belongs in ICQ, it's part of your skin program. Before you delete anything, be sure to look it up first.
