Wiiki internet cables cut - what happens...

Published:

Some, like me, are not very computer-terminology savvy. Please tell me what the status of Julian Assange's internet access now is; was this latest batch of documents made public by WikiLeaks accomplished after his internet access had been severed?; what confidence do you have that WikiLeaks will be able to continue its work until election day?

WikiLeaks is not one person hold up inside an embassy. It is an organization spread across the globe. From what I understand, Julian was just a figurehead. I'm sure there are many other members of the organization with access to the files and passwords that will easily be able to carry on the work.

Heck, they probably are back up copies on the Russian government's servers!

The wikileaks tweets earlier show they have encrypted copies of documents on public torrent networks, just waiting for the release of encryption keys. So cutting off internet access will not stop anything from being released. As long as one person with the keys can get online, the rest of the info gets dumped into the public domain.
