This was a three way deal between a Russian mining company, a Canadian mining company that was also a major contributor to the Clinton Foundation, and the US State Department under the direction of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
The deal required the blessing of the State Dept because the uranium in question was extracted from the ground in the US.  It was a win-win-win-lose solution.  The Russians won by grabbing a major chunk of the US uranium, the Canadian company won by selling the Russians the uranium, and the Clinton Foundation won by getting gobs of money from the owner of the Canadian firm.  Only the US lost by losing such a large portion of their supply of uranium.
I wonder how they plan to blame this one on Trump.
