Too late to be sorry

The Number of People Who Regret Voting for Trump Is Growing

A new national poll released this week shows that Trump supporters increasingly feel that he's "going too far," is falling short of their expectations of him for unifying the country, and is "getting sidetracked by things that aren't important." All of which amounts to an uptick in "Trump Regretters" (i.e. people who voted for him but no longer support him) since November.

But a majority of Trump supporters still feel the President is "keeping his promises" and "getting things done."

Last month, half of Trump voters felt he was "surrounding himself with the best people." This week, 39 percent do.

But Trump-who last month tweeted "Any negative polls are fake news"-may have cause for concern if support among his base continues to fall, said Margie Omero, executive vice president for public affairs at PSB Research, who spearheaded the poll.

"He has no crossover appeal," Omero told MarieClaire.com, citing other polling outlets that have found Trump to be strong with his supporters, but dangerously weak with Democrats and independents. "So if he starts to slip with his base-as he has in our poll-where does he have room to grow?"

"He has to hold onto his base going into the midterms," she added. "If this slide continues, he is going to have some serious trouble."

Omero believes Trump has been operating largely in campaign mode since being elected. "If he was trying to reach out to Democrats, he wouldn't be doing the Muslim ban, rolling back climate change efforts, or making up accusations against Obama. He'd be focused on infrastructure funding, or meeting with CEOs, and he'd throw away his phone. He's done very little to extend an olive branch to the people who didn't vote for him, or to try to heal our country's partisan divisions."Another cautionary flag for Trump in the PSB findings comes from Clinton voters: Voters who were "With Her" last fall are twice as likely as Trump voters to have taken some sort of politically-motivated action since January: contacting their congressional rep, donating to a cause, or switching away from a product or service whose leadership didn't share their values. "People are looking for ways to take action," said Omero. "There may not be a vote until next November, but there's still plenty to be done between now and then."

Trump has zero crossover appeal. His attempt to appeal to democrats and independents went south when he LIED on Obama. He caused a rift between repubs and dems that will take years to heal. It's hard for me to view Trump as POTUS. The behavior he has exhibited is like no other president in history. Trump's biggest problem is that he misses all the pomp and circumstances that went with campaigning for POTUS...now that he has it the thrill is gone and he now realizes that he is in over his head.

Speedy, you're covering a lot of good ground with this entry, man, and here's why. Only those willing to be completely honest and forthecoming, as opposed to those just saving face for the sake of party interest, fall into this category of regret. Here's the thing, though. It's not so much being sorry for having voted for him, in my opinion, but rather how he's representing the highest seat in the land even with this episode of accusing Obama with a felony. If our last president had been a Republican and Hillary had done thisnwithout a grain of evidence from the Democrats, these same "I'm not sorry" folks with Trump now would be calling for Hillary's head for sure.

Speedy, these are our 'professional hypocrites' but, they're completey oblivious to the messages they're actually sending. So, in turn, once Trump begins to implement his own numbers with insurance, taxes, and the economy, I'm not gonna be sorry when he slides in with absolutely no grease...and uses sand as the alternative. Know why? It's already shown that it's THEM that'll take the brunt of his force. Trump knows the specific type of 'anything goes' percentage of voters he's shafting. Good.

Speedy, we're batting .500 in case you're not tuned in to the hearings. When I say everything that we've discussed here has been brought out as fact so far, I do mean everything...including that dossier thus far. It will be revealed down the road that this same dossier clearly states that Trump was fully aware of this political engagement. Connection, corruption, and then collusion to nail the coffin.

All these people are talking about how Russia is our enemt, our adversary and Trump is in bed with Putin and the Kremlin. Wven worse, Trump's supporters are right there with him....and will be proven as the ultimate TRAITORS OF THIS GREAT COUNTRY.

Man, this probe is about to get REAL good even with the idea of classified leaks. The reason there were leaks is because people were afraid that the corruption would go unchallenged and swept out the back door. Comey's azz is on the line big time 'cause he's refusing to NOW discuss classified information, BUT, he had no problem discussing an on-going investigation of Hillary. Busted.

LL, it's amazing how some Trump supporters find it necessary to say they are not sorry for voting for a man that have proven to be a LIAR and an embarrassment. Well I fell sorry for all those that placed all their hope in trust in a fraud. I knew Trump's sordid background would catch up with him. Trump and the Russian connection is real and traitorous in nature. Comey confirms FBI investigating Trump/Russia collusion. Also the FBI, DOJ, NSA stated that no info supporing Trump wiretap claims.
