It used to say 6 to 8 weeks. Guess California wants that interest for another couple weeks. What takes 3 months to get money from other states? All the other states do not take that long.

lejardin, I believe it is the total workload there. They are swamped with winners. I guess they were not ready for more winners than usual.

While I was looking for per capita lottery spending for ea. state, I saw that Delaware has just ten employees. Granted, it's a small state, but how many of those ten are in the positions where they check winners? I wonder how many California has for just that? It also makes me wonder that if this recent increase in the # of winners is simply an anomaly or if they've changed the odds and expect the # to stay constant w/ the increase? If it's not permanent, then they might very well need to lay people off after the rush is over. Then again, just how many people get laid off from those types of jobs?
