A yr. or so ago, I read a breakdown of the most dangerous cities in America. The author mentioned that the U.S. was one of the top in homicide rates and gun violence among all the "first world" countries. Alarming! The author then took it a step further and showed the statistics that if just the top five cities with the leading homicide rates were taken out of the equation, then the U.S. dropped way down the list and if the top 10 cities were taken out of the accounting, the U.S. would be at the very bottom or very close to it.

There was a common denominator among all those places; I'll give you three guesses but the first two won't count. (Hint: it's which party is in charge and has been for decades)
