"We'll start at the beginning. Yes, apparently receiving tax breaks from the U.S. government for child care or low wages doesn't currently require that you have a Social Security number.
At least according to CNS News, which reported this week on the new requirement in President Trump's budget. Under the new rule, "those receiving the child care tax credit and the earned income tax credit now must have a Social Security number to claim those tax credits," the news agency reported. ..."
