Atone for what? The middle of the road peace loving Americans who voted for Trump have nothing to atone for.

Funny that the author of the piece says she's conservative; I guess you can stick a flower in your butt and call yourself a vase, but it doesn't mean you ARE a vase.

"In the near-term, Republicans could hold hearings on the rise of neo-fascist and white-supremacist groups and demand that the administration get serious about combating domestic terrorism instigated by these groups."

Sure, sounds good to me, as long as the Dems/progressives do the same with the terrorist organizations Antifa and BLM and subpoena Soros' financial records to see to what extent he funds those and more.

"They could demand the firing of White House advisers (Stephen K. Bannon, Sebastian Gorka) who provide ideological ballast for the white-nationalist movement."

What the hell does "ideological ballast" mean? Oh, I know what it's SUPPOSED to mean, but why are those two being singled out for providing "ideological ballast"? Any accusations about their ties to the white nationalist movement has not been proved and I doubt they ever will. A little late now, but why didn't anyone other than those on the right question Obama's ties to Marxists and why he sat in the front row pews in the anti-Semitic Rev. Wright's church?   Obama provided more "ideological ballast" to terrorism than any other president in history.

"Republicans could pass a resolution calling for removal of Confederate statues that celebrate those who took up arms against the United States and defended slavery. "

So, we're going to whitewash (no pun intended) history to keep from offending a few people's sensibilities? Many of the protestors there were Charleston natives who did not want to see the statue taken down. If we're going to try to erase a shameful era in our history, we should tear down the Vietnam War Memorial, all statues of any presidents who owned slaves and heck, tear down the Lincoln Memorial for trampling on the Constitution.

"Republicans could defund and denounce the ludicrous election fraud commission, which rests on the lie that there was massive voting fraud and is a thinly disguised ruse to put into effect new obstacles to voting. "

First off, prove it was a lie. Just like the tip of the iceberg, the proven numbers of fraud suggest much, much more. One case of voter fraud is one too many and could be stopped with better validations in place that keep that from happening. Of course, the argument is against those "obstacles" but if we don't have legitimate elections, then that's the biggest obstacle to a representative republic there can be. I guess it's OK as long as the fraudulent vote doesn't cancel out YOUR vote, huh?

And yeah, ambturd, fix that keyboard . I recommend hitting it with a sledgehammer.
